🎵 Monthly Song Challenge 🎵

Was in Montreal last year. Candians were so nice and kind to me and my family. I view them not just as neighbors but almost like family. I hate the way there seems to be some division now and I know it is kinda all our fault. Anyways. Much love.

Some great Leonard Cohen murals there. Have a few good ones I took on phone. I think this is my favorite.

I refuse to accept any blame or responsibility for our current government. I voted and not in that direction. It's embarrassing. During his first term, while in Europe, I claimed "Canadian" status.

I would happily smuggle bourbon across the border so they could avoid ridiculous tariffs.

Day 16 - A song that has a political message/philosophy/theme you agree with

The song I wanted to pick wouldn’t work 🤫 so I’m going with this one

Gil Scott-Heron - The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

I am glad that music festivals are trending on social media. As destructive and mind numbing as it is, this new version of television is slightly less restricted.. if you know where to look.

Day 17 - A song that is your latest earworm.

I had one at the beginning of this month courtesy of this thread but last week it was overtaken by song I heard on the radio that I hadn't heard in a while. Now it won't leave my brain.

Suzanne Vega - Blood Makes Noise
Great and underrated song!

I’m All Fuck Up - This Is Lorelei

you little sick thing you had your fun
you cut the line baby there’s no more tears
you know some people’d wanna go yea they’d wanna run away
but you’re all fucked up and you wanna stay here with me
i broke the tank and you sucked me right out of it
took a deep breath of that hot spanish fuel
and all the music in this city only made us wanna fight
so we lit up every night and spit the gas back into it
we spit on every stone madrid would let us find
sometimes i trace the stains that you left in my car
and it makes me wanna cry so i write another song
and i knew it all along that you might wind up next to me
and i knew it all along that you might not be no friend to me
i wanna steal every happy thought you have
fucking nickel fucking dime trade them back to you for mine
put my own inside my bag and fly back to new york city again

With all due respect, this is part of the problem
This is our problem
I cannot vote (not a citizen) and yet still take responsibility for pushing for the changes I want to see in this world/country.
Voting is such a small part of civic engagement.

We blame society-- but WE are society

We must take responsibility for this mess we've unleashed on the world, regardless of if and how we voted.

Our house is on fire. Doesn't really matter who set it ablaze, we're in emergency territory and need to put it out!!

Day 17: A song that is your latest earworm

This part especially....

"The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come"
