Full moons in the mountains appear much closer than actually are.
The Adirondacks are where we go every summer, the wife and the progeny will walk one of the 46 peaks a day. It leaves me time to contemplate life..or write something. It draws me, maybe because the Mohawk sphere of influence was always there, even if James Fenimore Cooper wrote about Mohicans and Hurons.

You and the toothy grin! I thought of you, Heath, when I read something written by a European about how you can spot the Americans by the big toothy grins. I tend to be a closed-lip smiler — unless I’m caught in the midst of laughter. Way back in my 30’s, it became obvious to me that I was a prime example of resting bitch face. My mouth naturally turned down, and I set out to change that, very purposefully. And I am a woman of IRON will!!! This project was spurred on by studies in breathwork where I learned that you get more oxygen into your nostrils when your lips curve up. NOT in a big grin which scrunches your sinuses, but a gentle curve. Since my mouth tends to erupt in sarcasm and snark, it was doubly useful to practice pressing my lips together in a gentle curve. What can I say? In my world outside Lit, I masquerade as a serene person. Act as if!!! It spreads a bit of calm. God knows the world can use it.
