Never had either, but both sound great. My gf has expressed willingness to participate in a MMF if we find the right guy, but I think she's more interested in watching the two guys together (which is fine by me).
 
I have done both and really enjoyed the experiences. I cannot say that I prefer one over the other. They are each wonderful in their own way. Will definitely do 3-somes again.
