A silly lit dilemma

I vote for more coffee, same name, 20k posts. Of course, this being me, I would always ask for more coffee..

Well, truth be told, I post much less as a mod.

The bulk of my worthless posts are over on the GB. *shrugs*

As for your messages, look under user cp, user options, and then check to see if you have clicked "yes" by send male blah blah blah.

Or check the actual posts you make. There is a place at the end of the post that you check if you want e mail notification.

Don't think you have nothing to say because your post totals are lower than some.

Shit, that tells me someone actually picks and chooses what they want to say. That is a quality individual. Some join the forums one month, and a month later are hitting 1,000 posts. Don't you think the rest of us might be a little tired of them, by then?

And, MissTaken is a moderator. They tend to post more than the rest of us do. It's the job.

Speaking of moderator, I have a question for you, MissTaken. The Lit system has recently stopped sending me a message when someone posts to a thread I'm registered with. Do you know (off hand) what I need to check? Is it something in my setup at Lit, or should I look elsewhere?

It's funny. I'm a computer person, but I am drawing a blank on this. But, I KNOW you have seen this before, right? RIGHT?

Definitely yes to the coffee.

Right after I finish my wings!

:D

I just knew we would get along fine!

I'm very glad you've resolved this issue. Even more so that you've decided not to change your name.

I also think that I understand what Skyline is getting at. I'd like to think we have more wisdom then our number of posts imply. On the other hand our number of posts is rather low, as we often pass up places where we could comment. Then again, a lot of our posts are simple agreements, or just random comments. So post number doesn't tell anyone too much.

Post quality does though, and to abandone all your posts because of that number makes it difficult for a new person to identify your name with that wisdom which you have already posted.

Screen names are very important online, over time they tend to become part of your online identity, changing them confuses pople too.

I gave you an "out", but you didn't take it. That's a sign of a secure personality.

Sorry, I've done all of that. I checked my email address for correctness, reset the "send email notification" in my profile, and have even clicked on the end of the thread notification button you mentioned.

I even checked within my profile to see what threads I'm registered with. It had the correct ones, so that made it even stranger.

This just started a couple weeks ago. It's getting annoying. I don't know when someone posts to a thread I'm registered to. How is a person to communicate when you don't know it's your turn to talk? OK, I won't sidetrack this thread any longer with this.

But, did I understand a post correctly that you have decided to keep your name and go ahead with the 20,000 number? And, does that mean you and I will be meeting for a "marking party"? :D

Post away, sweetie. I'm oiling up my floggers. And don't forget I have electrical toys. We'll have a Shocking good time.

OK, where do we meet? Somewhere in Indiana, in the dead of night? Sounds sexy.

Post counts be damned.

I have seen posts from people with less than ten posts who really titillated my grey matter and have some great things to say.

Then, I have seem posts from people with 18,000 posts that were just bunk!

;)

(None of us are infallible!)

And don't be afraid to post. If you are posting agreement, then the person you are agreeing with knows their post isn't being overlooked. I am guilty of this. I may read a great post and keep going because to say, "You're right" seems almost redundant, but in doing so, I do let the poster know I am reading adn agreeing.

Also, that I am NOT an expert in BDSM and am learning as are many here, my posting seems increase with changes to my real life and curves in the road of my journey.

Now, DVS....you aren't the only one not getting e mails and in fact, I am surprised you were. The e mail function has been unreliable for some time. I would suggest going to your user cp to see what threads have been posted to that you have been involved in. That is what I do.

As for floggings?

I just don't know. A switch I am? or a switch I was? I just don't know.

SEeeeeeeeeeeeee?????????

I don't know much these days!

:p

Seems if MissTaken were representative of the sub in the switch, the alter Ego that follows would be Ms. Takes. Perhaps even "Ms Takes 20,000" when MissTaken reaches 19,999. ;)

I'd Pick More Daisies
By Nadine Stair, age 85

If I had my life to live over,
I'd try to make more mistakes next time.
I would relax. I would limber up.
I would be sillier than I have on this trip.
I would be crazier. I would be less hygienic.
I would take more chances, I would take more trips.
I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers,
and watch more sunsets.
I would burn more gasoline. I would eat more ice cream and less beans.
I would have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones.
You see, I am one of those people who lives
prophylactically and sensibly and sanely,
hour after hour, day after day.

Oh, I have had my moments
And if I had it to do over again, I'd have more of them.
In fact, I'd try to have nothing else.
Just moments,one after another.
Instead of living so many years ahead each day.
I have been one of those people who never go anywhere
without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a gargle, a
raincoat, and a parachute.

If I had to do it over again, I would go places and do things.
I'd travel lighter than I have.
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefooted
earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.
I would play hooky more. I wouldn't make such good grades
except by accident.
I would ride on merry-go-rounds.

I'd pick more daisies!
