Adult theater...have you ever gone?

And their motto was “You drop it, we mop it!”

Not far from the truth. I know the cleaning company they use was also one that would offer their services to the Police after crime scenes. I guess at the end of the day someone had to get it done.

It seems that arcades are still numerous and easy to find. The same cannot be said of actual adult theaters.

Not in a Long Time

We have visited a few over the years, but the last time I was in one was about 10 years ago. My husband is more into that than I am.

The first time we went together as a couple was about 20 years ago in Florida. My husband, KJ, had been there before and thought it to be safe and relatively clean.

There was an adult bookstore and a lot of dirty looking video booths downstairs. There were two adult theaters (really not much bigger than a bedroom each) that were at the top of the stairs. It cost $10/person as I recall to go in, but couples were "two for one".

There were about six rows of bench seats that were like church pews. The movie was completely forgettable, straight porn. There were 3 or 4 men there when we came in, and we sat in the back. Before you ask, we weren't there for sex, and I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt (bra and panties too).

We've learned that women and couples are an uncommon sight at those places and get a lot of attention from the men. That was definitely our experience, as pretty much everyone in the theater made an effort to move next to us almost as soon as we sat down and before we could get used to the darkness.

I think if the guys could have been less aggressive and more polite, then we could have allowed some light touching or something. This being our first experience in one of those places as a couple, it was just a little too intense and we didn't stick around long.

For those who want to visit as a couple, I would suggest going with the idea of making the first time just a quick visit. Get an idea of the layout of the place and how people behave. If it's your cup of tea, by all means go back. As I said, we've been to a few and have had some fun experiences. We have also had a couple of bad experiences.

Write back if you have questions or need more details.

I think this is a really accurate, eloquent description; the wanton, sex crazed woman who goes to these places, I think is pretty much an urban legend, propagated by a lot of vids on the porn channels. Most women I’ve been with think such places are simply “gross,” and wouldn’t be seen dead in one. I don’t blame them either...Men, however, think somewhat...ahem...”differently...”

“from some one who has probably not experienced much of the world outside of pornography.” Experienced much of the WORLD?? Seriously? Why on EARTH would you assume something like this? Gotta be one of the more ignorant comments I’ve seen in an otherwise tolerant forum. Best of luck to you and your wife.

That is a pretty self centered assumptions comment from some one who has probably not experienced much of the world outside of pornography.
My wife, for instance, is very interested in going once we get passed the pandemic.

And she is not the norm. I think that was his point when refering to women who go there as urban legends. Adult bookstores and theaters are mostly seedy places that are not very clean or well kept. MOST women would not even entertain the idea of going into them. Yes, I have seen women in these places and was going with my ex fiancee to one about once a month. We would usually see 6-7 other couples there when we went and sometimes a lone woman. We saw couples in several adult theaters and ABS's over the years but almost all of these places were catering to couples and the places were very clean and well managed.

Most often these place never have women going into them and women who are going there are with their husband/significant other, as protection and/or under his direction because he wanted her to go. Maybe against her will.

It is quite easy to believe the OP has never seen a woman in an adult theater or bookstore and would think it is just a myth, especially if the places he has been do not cater to couples and are frequented mostly by gay men, or men who are looking to suck and/or be sucked. Women usually don't have any interest in that. Women are usually and rightly concerned about the obvious health and safety risks and would avoid places like that. Even sexually open-minded women would think twice about going even if they did find something curiously appealing to seeing what it was all about.

Claiming his is self-centered is probably wrong and definitely rude, inconsiderate and more than a little snotty on your part. It's self-serving also, giving you the opportunity to brag about your wife's willingness to go. I could make a comment about the women I do see going to these places but I'll leave that topic for now. I don't want to be accused of being rude to you.

We now return this thread to its regularly scheduled programming....

Just to clarify, the scene that my wife descibes above was her first experience with me to an adult theater. She went a time or two with a previous boyfriend. She and I have also been to several since the incident she mentioned.

Some adult theaters go out of their way to accomodate couples, but most do not. We visited one in Seattle many years ago that set aside an hour after their normal closing when the theater was ONLY open to couples. They also had a row of seating reserved for couples. Those things help keep out the riff-raff.

My experience with theaters is more extensive than my wife's. In my experience about 99% of the people who visit the theaters are men. Unfortunately, a large number do not know how to behave politely around women. That's a pity for everyone concerned.

I have visited theaters (by myself) where women and couples have played around a lot! I've seen it all there with women, and I don't think any (or many) were forced. Having said that, my wife and I never went with the goal of messing around with other men. It's exciting to know that that could happen, and sometimes it's a nice fantasy, but it's just not something we set out to do. We have allowed some above the waist touching, but we have also abruptly left when things started to go beyond our comfort level.

Believe it or not, we went for the movie and to enjoy each other's company.

Hope this adds to the discussion and doesn't further muddy the waters.

I know I have mentioned this elsewhere, but when I confessed to my college GF that I went to the local porn theater, she IMMEDIATELY insisted on going with me the next time, just to see hard-core, male-oriented porn. And then her roommate wanted to go too. I felt like Adonis telling the guy at the counter, "three please."

The girls, 19 at the time, were not there to do anything with the men there, but they were so, so expecting to see men openly masturbating (not me, of course - - had it just been my GF, I would have, or asked her to do the honors), but none did (I think to their disappointment!).

Both left after one flick (it was always a double bill), but my GF told me to stay and get REALLY worked up for her later.

Go to them every chance I get

Are there any left these days. I used to go a lot but have not been for several years. I would like to take my wife to one. I think she would be willing at this point in life.

Your wife sounds hot! I love fucking another man’s wife. It’s a huge turn on for me.

Still trying to convince my wife to go, but since we still rarely leave the house, my requests have essentially been halted for a year now.
Fingers crossed!

Few and far between; most I know about are in a section of an ABS, and are pretty sleazy. Still, sleazy can be a big turn on! “I love the smell of cum in the morning...”

There's one in Lake Worth Fl, one side is straight and the other side is gay. The gay side is supposed to be pretty wild. Some day maybe I'll go and find out.

May have to check it out, right down the road. Went there only once, maybe 30 some years ago

Many years ago my wife and I went to a drive-in theatre specializing in porn. Took a few beers, she wore a short, summer dress with no panties or bra...and both of us were so bored we fell asleep. A few years later we tried a regular walk-in porn theatre and walked back out; again, boring.

I reckon, because this was during the time we had on open marriage and had attended a place called the "A" Frame a few times in one of the hill communities in LA, the porn flicks were a let down. :D
