Am I a pervert?

Don't be discouraged by those who can do no better than to insult the work of others. Constructive criticism is good, personal attack is BS generated by someone with too much time on their hands. One positive in it is that as a writer you have managed to engage their emotions to a point they feel a need to respond, even if not in an obviously helpful way....and for most writers knowing they have reached someone emotionally is a big plus.

Just think about it...no one forces these people to read from beginning to end do they? But read it all they do and evidence it by telling you what they found repulsive about the storyline etc....personally if I find I don't like something at all I will not go past the first few paragraghs. I think one of the best pieces of advice I ever received for writing was to first write to please yourself, then find the audience that can share that pleasure with you. It is the easiest and most natural way to write because you are not trying to produce a people pleaser but instead are writing a piece which means something to you.

That's exactly right, Catalina! Most of my submissions, are my own fantasies written down, or in audio. Usually if I wanna find what the others like, I'll look on the top list, or just look in the Story Ideas board, or what everyone is posting that they liike. those negative posters are just bored out of their skull. There's somethig I don't understand tho. For a genre like "Loving Wives" to have such a beautiful name and all... I could never figure out what type of stories go there. Now I hear from Dr. Mab that it's the worse bombed area for Negative Nellys? Whew....sounds like war...almost. :confused: But I'm not giving up my pen or my keyboard. We're all perves hear mostly. You may as well be saying....you're just HUMAN!:eek:

No, you aren't a pervert, at least not in any way that's any more perverted than anyone else around her. If a story turns out not to be a reader's cup of tea, he should just stop reading it, not trash the author. Criticism of a story should be reserved for things that are wrong with the story, not just that you weren't into whatever the characters were into.

negative feedback

I also just posted a "first" story. And the few public responses were as follows: 1 very negative, 2 liked the writing but thought the husband was mentally ill, & 1 positive comment. (incidentally I also got six email feedbacks which were all very favorable. )

The thing about "loving wives" is that it should be a mutually consensual act. The negatives in this case seemed to be that the wife should an almost unwillingly participate or at the very least not enjoy??

Perhaps should have posted under exhibitionist/voyeur category?

Congrats on your first story. No time to get to it just now but it sounds fine. I love a twist ending! The question is , do you want to write an interesting, well-told story about sex or do you want to write a standard porn story with enough sex for some guy in Singapore to jerk off to and not enough plot to distract from it? I've learned to write for me and not for your intended audience. For the most part, readers, writers and guests here on LIT have been wonderful to me...including YOU! First Story

I just read your first story. I posted my own last week, and it is online effective 1/30/05. Apparently, we are sub in our own rights. We know that we each want something one way, but unfortunately, life gives us something else. I don't know how much of your story is of "real" adventures, but whatever is going on, just run with it. First off, I think choosing right category is important. Some categories are more ruthless than others because readers are more vigilent in knowing what they want. Loving Wives, for example, gives everyone a headache.

Second, if anon feedback relates to the story in an intelligent and critical way, leave it up and post a response. If anon feedback is a personal attack, either leave it or take it down. It becomes, after a while, par for the course, and some of it is so ridiculous that readers will, themselves know the diff between Asshole and worthy comments.

Some anon will be hateful because you are a better writer. Also, if you make more postings, you will see a dip in stories. Some do not enjoy writers with opinions. Lit. scoring is not a good judge of your worth. Example, if all your friends give you 5's, is that good? Alternately, if all jerks give you 1's?

Get REAL feedback, from honest people. SDC is a good place. But also know how much criticism good and bad you can take, because you will get diverse readings from many people with many interests, who are sometimes harsh, and sometimes gentle. Harshness, as I have learned, is best because it has always meant there is promise in a writer. It has always meant, that they know you can do better, and are asking you to push for BEST, rather than mediocre. It never means they do not like unless they say so.

PC's about nothing, though they inflame at the time, but are worth nothing if you are a 'real' author. If, for example, you got famous, would you piss on the critic, or several? You may not agree, several critics may not agree, but if you are confident in your abilities, then critique is always welcome. Critique that you give, and take . . .

if confident, nothing phases, not even, you are shit. The writer that was, is the author who overcame 20 editor responses "this is shit" and prevailed.

That's why it's called a fantasy. Everyone has dirty out there thoughts and you are talented enough to put them into writing...those who beat on you for doing so just repress their own thoughts. Forget about it, they're the cowards otherwise they would ask questions instead of thinking they have all the answers...Too bad for those closed minded people. DO not get discouraged and never let them beat you down!

The people who write such comments are neither more nor less perverted than the rest of us. They apparently get off on sending hate e-mails and talking dirty about someone else's story. Whatever floats their boat. Maybe they should write a fantasy about how it excites them.

If people come here looking for Harlequin Romance stories, and find something quite different, I suppose they might be shocked, but if that's what they were expecting, it's fairly obvious it was their mistake, not yours.

I am really sorry for my absence this past month and a half. I had emergency surgery on February 10. Just one of those unexpected life-threatening things painful enough to make you hate every single doctor who saved your life and causing you to experience weeks of soul-searing, 'wish I were dead agony'. (There. That is my first run-on sentence since beng released!) I am all right now. (However, does anyone else out there think that it is torture to have pretty nurses around patients who can get it up but are in too much pain to do anything about it? Groan. I think the muscles in my right hand atrophied and my 'unit' now belongs in the petrified forest. I for one do not think it is professional for a pretty nurse to politely ignore my 'peak of excitement' while giving me a sponge bath. I mean, isn't it only polite for a person who starts something to finish it?)

Anyways, I'm back in good health, head to toe and all areas in-between. For those who e-mailed me asking when my next story posting is: Thank you all for your inquiries. Requests ARE the most sincere for of flattery. I have just posted a couple of stories. So, after Literotica's interminable 3 days to a week posting delay, you should see a couple of my stories.

Right now I am going to get busy writing a story about what I WISH those ultra-professional nurses had done, especially the luscious brunette who patted my bare bottom and told me I had a cute butt. Curses especially go out to her! Follow through, madam, follow through!!!

Very interesting, I'm glad you are doing better. I wonder what that nurse was thinking? Last time I was in the hospital, there was this guy who couldn't piss, so they catheterized him a couple of times a day. I think he was just a masochist looking for thrills. haha
 
Pervert? Who says? But hey, feed back is all good in once sense of another. I've posted a coulpe of stories and had no feed back at all. Maybe the suck but when I write I do it for my own pleasure so if someone doesn't like what I write I shrug it off and continue on.
