Getting slightly more serious; the nature of porn in general is to sexually objectify those involved in it.

So it can be difficult to remember sometimes that they're real people too, with real lives and stories.

Yeah, I don't really like porn for that reason. The eroticism to me is the connection. Porn---it's even less than the eroticism of getting hammered and taking some barfly home for a sloppy quicky---but even muted drunk sex comes with the satisfaction of conquest, whereas porn, you just type some words into your browser, and there's all of rule 34 on display.

I think that's why I gravitate to written smut. To me, good erotica is about the characterizations, not about the act of sex itself. Action beats don't do it for me.

I don't know anything about that world, but I know for certainty that those girls will be every bit as obsessed with categories, times of days, thumbnails, styles of dress, whether to get tattoos etc as we are about star ratings. The other is making serious buck.
