(I keep signatures turned off, and can only see them when I click on someone's public profile link so i never saw that until you mentioned it. But I have to say, corrupting young adults-- which is all F_O is admitting to -- strikes me as wishful thinking and a storybook notion of what young adults get up to all on their own these days.

Calling people names on the internet is not going to protect kids or animals.

Lobbying for better laws, serving as amicus curae if you're qualified, teaching the people you personally can reach in meaningful ways-- those are worthwhile ways to channel your energy.
Posting about the whys and wherefores seems to be useful as well-- at least, I've been told that I've actually changed someone's mind with my arguments a few times.
