I was giving serious thought to getting a pair of custom silver braclets that look like shakles/cuffs made for my sub this Christmas, but damned hard to find anywhere decent or willing to give it a go.

I think that for the jewelry having symbolism, it would depend on what you wanted it to mean and to whom.

If I wear an anklet scooter gave me on my left ankle, he knows what that means. Perhaps, our group of friends in the lifestyle would also know.

If we went to a BDSM event, perhaps some there would wonder ...

But I suppose that the jewelry only has as much significance as we attach to it.

Sometimes, I feel like BDSMers try too hard to analyze and give every little thing meaning.

I agree with the Harem cuffs on the site, had a look after my post. With regards symbolism, I want them for her so that we know what they mean and they can be worn openly. A covert, understated and a private message: Mine.
