A while ago there was a thread about favorite nipple torture/self torture. My contribution to it - chopsticks. I don't quite understand why, but almost every picture you find online on this topic will have two pairs of chopsticks, one for each nipple. I like to do it differently. Let's do it together, I will talk you though.

Take one pair of chopsticks and put rubber bands on the ends, make them really tight. Put a finger between the sticks and slip one nipple in the opening. Now move your finger to the other end and slip the other nipple in.

I would think it depends a lot of the cup size. I am DD, I can bring my nipples close enough for them to touch each other, so the length of the chopsticks never was a problem.

If chopsticks are too short for your wife and you really want to try the combined set-up, you can always get thin round dowels from Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, etc. I think the thinnest ones are 0.25" in diameter and they are usually a yard long, so you can cut it to whatever size works better for you. Or use a pair of rattan crops if you have any at hand

You can also cut the takeout chopsticks so they are only 4-5 inches long and use on each nipple. Be aware that this will increase the strength of the squeeze.
