How about the inland sea?

I was glad to hear you are living in the midwest. If you go far enough north, it can be quite beautiful around the inland sea (Lake Superior). All kinds of lakes and islands up here in the North Woods. I can think of some nice secluded waterfalls, islands with very private sand beaches, lakes with only one campsite and big rock ledges, under old growth trees... lots of places to play!

Glad to hear so many are from the midwest!

I haven't had much chance to explore it...when I lived in California I would spend many holidays in the woods surounding the beach..I love hiking!

But since I have moved here, work interfers with those activites. That and lack of friends willing to spend the night in a forest (they are missing sooooooooo much!).

Most of my friends have boyfriends, most of them sticks in the mud. They sit around and complain...I never met soo many guys who didn't like camping.....imagine!

I think its fun! Slip away and find a nice spot to cuddle (and other!) with your guy...who's crazy enough to miss out on that???

Midwest Camping Rhythm

Nymph, it sounds like you do need to come up and explore a more beautiful part of the Midwest.

Too bad about the boring guys near you who don't appreciate hiking and camping. Outdoors people are the best play partners for another reason too. All that outdoors activity keeps us in good shape, with toned legs and nice tight butts. Not to mention that the men (and women) like to get in a good rhythm... and go... and go... and go... and go... For hour after hour... whether it be hiking, skiing, canoeing or even more pleasurable activities...

Nymph WOW!

Married cpl here that enjoy the Mid-West (WIS) long cold winters to snuggle by the fireplace with a bottle of wine, four wheeling in spring and fall ( wet muddy season), spring time when life returns after the blanket os snow melts, and fall all the great colors ( great for pic taken in the great outdoors. Camping is fantastic three season's out of four.
