I'm hoping to see the Northern Lights..
I missed them yesterday.

Northern lights, is that 2 blokes from Newcastle with torches?

A lot of people said they could only see white clouds, but when they photographed it, it was revealed through the lens.

Oh bugger...
I've seen plenty of wispy white clouds that look unfamiliar in the night sky.
Didn't take a photo though...

The Met office said it was unlikely to appear so far south tonight, so unless you're in Lewis, forget it. But it's a warm night and you may hear bats instead

need good hearing, only the bigger bats echolocate in the human range and then only at the very top. Social calls can just be heard too... young people can and i could hear those many years ago.

then again, I have a bat detector, so i can listen in to them munching midges.

also... (bat geekery) they tend to come out about half an hour after sunset an feed like crazy for about an hour or two, then rest up and have another frenzy before dawn.

and now... back to our normal programme.

Morning all. Any further aurora sightings? I gather the Met office got it wrong again and they were visible. A bit too cloudy round here so we had a look at 11.30pm then went to bed.
