Explain this to me.

Pet insurance up for renewal. I do a cursory price comparison, wholly expecting it to be in the region of the renewal and therefore making it pointless to go through the process.

...Except it comes out about half the price. WITH THE SAME INSURER.

The level of cover must have changed, right?

Nope. Exactly the same package. Same insurance company. About half the price.

So I call them and explain this...and the guy offers to take a few quid off.

"But if I cancel this one, and apply for a new policy online, it's about half the price. Can't you just do that?"

"No."

"Okay. I'd like to cancel then please."

"Fair enough."

The ONLY risk is that the new one won't cover accidents in the first 48 hours. Sod's law boycat gets into a scrap.

Pet insurance is so expensive! I self insure mine. I chuck a bit of money aside each payday and hope for the best
