I've tried calamari ( off other people's plates ) but never been impressed. As a child I occasionally chewed rubbers ( or as the Amuricans say, Erasors ). It's a similar experience. Dunno what the fuss is about

I believe calamari is squid . I quite like squid and I actually like octopus , especially if lightly prepared in salad or in an ink casserole. But octopus (not squid) are so clever and friendly. It’s like eating a cross between dog and monkey. (But still tasty)
