Clearly, I need to reiterate and explain the subtext.

When I said "Oh dear", I was referring to the many other occurrences of D/s couples who've used the forums to talk to one another when a private message function has been so kindly provided for just such an eventuality. In the past when it's happened, it has engendered more than a little contempt in people that most are too polite to express; as you can probably guess, I have no such qualms because this is the Internet. As a matter of fact, I have even less qualms than normal because I have recently received validation that being a bitter little bastard really is the way God wants me to live my life so, to sum up, nobody here wants to see your exhibitionistic displays of "affection" other than you, so for everybody else's sanity, just send PMs to one another.

There are a lot of people on the Internet who want BDSM relationships but don't have them yet. And there are a lot of people whose idea of what BDSM looks like comes from fiction. *shudder*

Personally, I think the occasional displays of real-life couples can be educational for those folks; real people tend to be much more loving and playful than a lot of what happens in the more ridiculous sort of story.
