In my case it's not about being ashamed of who I am or being associated with this site. My partner works in a conservative field where image matters and if I'm outed, then he's outed by association and that wouldn't necessarily be so swell for his career. I know the risk of me or him being outed through Lit is very, very small, but it's a risk nevertheless.

I think especially for young people it's better to be cautious, because once the pics are online, it's nigh impossible to take them down again. You never know where you end up in life and sexy pics with your face showing or even just a face pic on a porn board could possibly come back to bite you in the ass later on.

And just an observation, as a woman, the few times I've posted pics or used an AV of (parts of) me, my inbox content increased with dudes hitting on me. And no, not because 'beautiful,' more because possibly confirmed vagina haver.

I don't particularly like how I look either, but I've started to work through some issues and I guess showing the my face pic here has helped. Maybe. I don't know. But I do think it's quite universal that women (all people?) feel insecure and don't like how they look. Sad but true.
