I'm not sure honestly. I think I'm getting to a point in life of what does it matter what I choose to wear under my clothes. But I think the Catholic guilt of sex is bad and wearing women's clothing is bad is still in the back of my head which is what gets me. And I live in a smaller town.

I've worn panties off and on for years hidden from my wife and recently while looking for something in my drawer she found 2 pairs. She asked me about them and I said yeah sometimes I wear them when your not around or jerk off into them. And she didn't care she pretty much said I've known you liked panties for years cause of your comments, I wish you had just said something. And since then we buy from VS together and I wear them semi regularly.
 
I don't know that there is any "best" source. Find what works for you and turns you on.
As for the best fit, try panties that are made for men like on xdress.com . A little wider in the gusset and built with room for the male anatomy.

You should take into consideration style, comfort, and budget. So what style do you prefer? Does it fit, can you “park all the cars in the garage”? How much are you willing to spend? I prefer to wear a string bikini style personally. I find that Katie & Laura’s Ballerina’s fit me well, and I don’t mind paying for panties I find sexy and comfortable. They also support all of their customers, so that’s a big plus. I would recommend only buying one at a time until you figure out what you like, what fits your anatomy and what size you are. Just because you’re a medium in Victoria’s Secret, doesn’t mean you’re not a large or a small in Maidenform, or Hanky Panky.

Depends on what you are doing, if wearing them all day then something a little bigger in the front, I can comfortably get in a UK size 12, but some of the panties I wear are best only for a short time as the balls fall out and it gets uncomfortable

I have loads and they do vary in how I categorise them for
a) general sexiness and erotic appeal
b) comfort for everyday wear

I prefer thongs if they fit well, and sometimes Brazilians. My current favourite thongs are some Elle branded ones, size 14. They fit snugly and are generously enough cut at the front to keep the junk in place without being overly tight, and make for a flattering bulge when things get a little excitable. The fabric's nice, not sheer but smooth and fine and nice to be stroked through. I dunno why, but just seeing the text on the waistband turns me on like crazy every time I see it too.
