Dichotomous, that's it. Oddly, a male version of it -I'm thinking about the poster for 50 cents' movie Get rich or die tryin' doesn't hold the same effect.

(When the movie was released here, I saw a poster of it that had been rpipped in two, hence showing the one underneath that was an add of a Walt Disney production- it read like: "Bambi II: Get rich or die tryin')

sad to say thats how the light source kinda came around. Having no actual lighting in a room will do that to a picture.

That's sooooooooooo interesting and guess what, I prefer the second immeasurably. The first had a touch of ghetto about it ( to me ) so I interpret the woman featured as having the gun as a matter of survival. The second comes from more a position of perceived power. I wonder which more is a stretch, a woman to hold a gun or a man to hold a child. Yes I know cliches, however I am imminently more comfortable with the latter. (Okay, I'll disclose a hint of perv he has a strong back , so shoot me, well perhaps maybe not : smiles: )

Well here is some background information Mr Chauderlos, I first viewed that image as very small thumbnail. I was drawn to it but couldn't identify the gender of person on the right. Even viewing it at full size I had assign a more formal observation to conclude gender, so there is a definite androgyny. Eroticism meter registers quite high on this series, pity photobucket culled one of the original three that I posted. Hmmn I think I recall you stating some while ago that you were quite taken with Bowie, he certainly exhibits these characteristics. Interesting. Suit & nekkid always a draw to me in imagery as a matter of trivia, I always double take.

PS your AV , have enjoyed them all in fact, this last one especially so.

Of course, man = gun and woman = child :smile:
It's the fact that the woman was holding both gun and baby at the same time that is disturbing. Maybe not disturbing, but rather - working on two different levels.

Androgyny is something that troubles me a lot. I was watching Oshima's Gohatto the other night and :sigh: I can understand how Sozaburo broke so many hearts... ( an interesting connection here between this thread and the Rising sun teahouse one :smiles: ). And suit vs. nekkid... There was this trend some time ago, naked male/clothed female the was interesting. Like turning the tables of power - in so far one is less powerfull when naked (yeah, topping from the bottom, so shoot me :grin: )

Bowie... Would I sound pretentious if I told you I've met him, once? That was more than a decade ago, and I felt so flabbergasted I couldn't utter a word. Preposterous, sometimes.
