BlueSky collecting the twitter users leaving en-masse

Really?

I thought they were equal opportunity satire.

Experts warn Trump dangerously close to figuring out where Canada is

K that's funny.
I'll give them a closer look. I'll admit it was cursory but if you're going there to cause shit then people will relegate you to a block list. It's not ideal but shitter bans people that musk doesn't agree with and NGL sometimes I don't want to get in ethical debates with right wing trolls or have to see rare steaks on a bbq when all I want is a decent vegan recipe. I can come here if I want that.

TikTok is a Chinese app, which is banned in China.

Fox 'News' was fined an immense number of dollars for lying to Americans. Fox is banned in the UK for lying.

'Truth' Social is a vanity platform owned by a liar, operated by a cattle farmer. Its value is absurdly high, classed as a 'meme stock' and will collapse probably before Ex. The fact that the liar has already jumped back onto Ex means that his own platform is doomed. Without his lies to soak up, there is no reason for the cultists to stay there.

BlueSky can easily include a page with its user-numbers and place of registration. It might take five minutes to compile.
Current BlueSky page containing user count. Gotta love true open-source software.

Someone ginned up a "who is blocking me?" page but it got way too popular and wouldn't scale correctly so it is down now....I found two people blocking me, one was an agriculture science student in North Dakota. Go figure.

Interesting piece on BlueSky. I still question the lasting impact it will have, but so far have found more positive engagement on my posts there. Granted, the majority of my posts are sports oriented, especially towards running, but similar Twitter posts haven't had the same engagement for me, personally.

I also enjoy how lists and topics can be tabbed for quicker interaction.

The European Federation of Journalists (an umbrella organization of 295,000 foreign journalists) have announced they will be abandoning the toXic shithole formerly known as Twitter on January 20, 2025 as they have lost confidence in Elon Musk.

LibsOfTikTok registered its userid on Bluesky Friday evening, and immediately commenced its usual rage-bait posting well into the night.
By Sunday afternoon the account had the rare distinction of accumulating the third highest number of blocks from individual users (well over 42,000 in 72 hours).
Not sure what it posted this evening but the account was unceremoniously banhammered by Bluesky.

RightGuide and/or UltraChad will be along shortly to natter their usual boilerplate commentary of "something something FREEZE PEACH!"

If anyone is interested, I'm not registered on X or the new thing either. Age has its privileges. I still come here, but the draw is dwindling. This place sounds like a scratched 45 playing backward. :coffee::coffee:

Gloating about censorship....how very Democrat of you!! :D (y) (y)

Posted four stories on Bluesky last night and overnight I'm being followed by book promoters, literary agents, book marketing specialists etc. These have to be some sort scam, right? No one has contacted me yet.

Yesterday was something of a real-time "acid test" for Bluesky.
  • If you looked on Bluesky, you got up-to-the-minute reports on the coup attempt in South Korea from English-speaking members of the foreign press.
  • If you looked on Twitter, the most trending topic was "Questions remain about government control over weather".

If your stories were Trans - oriented, they’re probably real!
You know Lace, for being one of Lit's most transphobic members on the political board, you've been surprisingly quiet about the Siberian Orchestra, which is purportedly 100% trans.

  • If you looked on Twitter, the most trending topic was "Questions remain about government control over weather".

Do the “questions” involve Jewish space lasers and/or MTG? 🙃

A better trending topic would be: No questions remain about the gullibility of MAGAs.

I came back from lunch today to find 30 follow-back requests on Bluesky
21 of them were created today, all purportedly from "Gaza", all of them had newly opened gofundme accounts asking for relief money.
Variations of the same theme. Methinks Russia or China might behind this tomfoolery.
