It's a ghost town

I recently traveled for the first time in over a year. It was odd to say the least. It was like a ghost town. I saw at most, three cars in the lot and only bumped into someone in the lobby once. No bars or restaurants open. No excitement, just some self-love in a hotel bed.

For me, the chance of meeting someone new on a business trip was the whole reason for wanting to travel. Going through airport security, sitting in a cramped seat for a couple of hours and unpacking in a hotel room were no fun. It was the end of the day and getting out to the bar or club in the evenings that made it worth while.

I never understood the attraction of sitting in the hotel room all evening but I know that is a common occurrence. I cannot count the times that I have seen, mostly women but some men, come to the bar, order dinner and a glass of wine and then escape back to their room to eat and drink by themselves.

Unfortunately I don't get to travel for work anymore but enjoy reading the adventures of others.

Several times I met beautiful, adventurous, girls who were away from parents, and relatives control for the first time in their lives. In a different country for the first time in their lives. Let me tell you....I learned many things for the first time about SEVERAL of them. I still smile driving by that hotel.
