Business Travelers Unite

In a way, I’m jealous. I’ve been traveling every week for the past few months. I could use a break.

Part of the super elite club I see.

I am actually glad I am not, that’s like 6months of traveling per year. But still, I really enjoy being away in places where no one knows you. Every one you meet is a new encounter. Don’t always close the sale, but always a lot of fun to try.

Most fun city?

For me, I have to admit to having had some really fun times in Nashville. I was there once during the Nashville boogie yearly gathering. That was an insane amount of fun and people really dress up for it all.

Really hoping to go back this year, well, if we fly that is! 🛩

I wouldn’t go as far as saying the elite club and all the travel definitely isn’t by choice 😂

Most fun city..I’d have to agree, Nashville. Unfortunately it’s no longer a destination for me after switching jobs.

I can say the least fun city I have traveled to is downtown Atlanta.

Nice to see you around, SG :)

Just got back from Slovenia. Just so it happened that it was my birthday too and celebrated there. It was great. I had missed traveling.

I travel quite a bit and racked up 39,000 miles last year. I enjoy spending time in hotels and stripping off, and relaxing.

Oh the work bit in-between is always a drag but I love to see the world and very lucky with my job.

Hi FL. :) I have not been around much for the past 6-7 months but I see you are still traveling. I don't want to be on the road as much as you but it would be nice to get out and about occassionally. I don't get to travel anymore. Can only hope to hear about incoming visitors.

I have never been Nashville but heard good things about it. New Orleans has always been a fun city for me. I could go for a beigent right now. :)

Lots of great memories from New Orleans, Beignet are best when they are shared ;)

I used to travel quite a bit. Now I travel only 3/4 times a year.

While I've spent countless hours wanking in a hotel room, I never had the knowledge on how to find someone for an encounter. (Still not sure I do.)

Last time I traveled I put out a message on craiglists and had a few responses - only one that I was interested in. But it never happened.

The hotel bar can be a starting place. Can also check for local brew pubs, night clubs or even a restaurant. Any place where other travelers might gather is a starting place. Just have to be willing to try and talk to a stranger sitting alone. I once met a woman while having dinner at the Planet Hollywood bar that turned into quite the night. Most times nothing will happen but still got to spend the evening chatting with an attractive woman. Better than sitting in the hotel room alone.

Work travel has suddenly restarted, after wishing for more of it for some time. Now my feelings about it are decidedly mixed (see "be careful what you wish for"):

London, GB next week and again in early March (likely Dublin as well this second trip)

Louisville, KY and San Francisco in April

Chicago in June

I will take your place if you want.

I work in healthcare operations, of a sort (healthcare operations software in a decidedly non-technical capacity).

Haha, I would say that sounds exciting but I know too many in the healthcare software field that would beg to differ.

Would be great to chat with someone from here and talk about the fantasies my wife and I have! I travel all the time for work (my job *is* travel)...

Will be in Nashville the weekend of 3/12 (work). Denver over 5/21 (work), Charleston 5/28 (vacation), Destin 9/10 (vacation), and DC 11/12 (work).

Get some coca-cola cake in Charleston and take deep breaths in Denver. I remember the first week after moving to Colorado Springs, I was walking the golf course. Got to the 5th hole and I was so out of breath that I had to stop playing. Took me a while to get use to the altitude.

I really do enjoy what I do. Sometime's it's exciting, sometimes more mundane, but it could be far, far worse.

Care to share in what area of operations you operate? Without revealing too much, of course. Might be awkward to find myself sitting across a conference table from you. Although it could be the beginning of a great story (or the ending of a not-so-great one :)).

I would love to chat about fantasies with you, since my fantasies often involve a couple :).
