California Race Law Unconstitutional On Its face

Deliberately obsessing over race and gender, and discriminating in reverse, is not progressive in any way. It is a tactic to divide the working and middle classes by whipping up culture wars, i.e. conservatives with old fashioned racism and sexism, and liberals with discrimination in reverse, sparking racial and gender division. Why do people fall for it? The super rich capitalists are the problem, not black people, not white people, not men, not women.
They do this in education to great effect. Their solution to poor, broken down, schools in minority areas is to bus White kids into them. Their solution to limited space in university and medical schools is to deny qualified applicants access for reasons based on race.

The solution is to build more and/or better schools. Not to artificially limit resources and find ways to make working class citizens fight each other over things that are readily available and should be considered a human right.

They act like erecting some buildings and hiring some teachers is some out of this world, pie in sky, unrealistic fantasy, dreamed up by Marxist utopians hell bent on destroying capitalism. Instead of a functioning government providing necessary services that can be easily acquired and funded and would benefit the nation as a whole.

Oh, I'm painfully aware of that, you fucking idiot, but it doesn't mean I don't have a right to call it out though, does it? Which brings me to this, you're just as fucked up as he is. You don't know how to address a given subject either. All you know how to do is throw about your abuse and that's why it's all you get in return. But hey, I'm game. Bring it on.
You're literally telling them they don't qualify as a citizen, you asshole. And I don't doubt that you would easily give them qualifiers to meet under law if you had the choice.

That's the problem with your so-called patriots.....you don't recognize that people you don't like have just as much of a voice as you do and consistently want to remove that voice under law.

The man is ignorant of the Constitution, American law, and history. He has no appreciation for his citizenship and but for his birth, probably couldn't pass the standard citizenship test we give to foreigners. People like him are destroying California with totalitarian unconstitutional law as a result of their ignorance and un-American political goals.

No, you are ignorant of the US Constitution and how it works in the real world, American law and you clearly have zero appreciation for history. I don't know if I'd pass the citizenship test we give to foriegners. I remember taking it as a child and most of it is the kinda stuff you learn for the test and then dump for stuff that has practical applications.

Some people like diversity. Some people do not like diversity.

I like diversity when it is voluntary or when there is no diversity of merit. I like dining at ethnic restaurants, shopping at ethnic shops, attending ethnic festivals, and so on. Those who do not enjoy that sort of thing should not be pressured to experience it.

Our most successful companies, like Microsoft, hire many people born in other countries, and who speak English as a second language. Nevertheless, they speak it fluently.

Moreover, they are not hired because Microsoft has an outreach program. They are hired because Microsoft hires the best computer professionals and executives in the world, and pays what it needs to to attract them.

This is very different from the hiring quota required by California law AB970.

What are the tangible benefits of hiring people, regardless of qualifications, to fill a quota? Is there any reason to believe that a company that did that would outperform a rival company that did not do it?
That IS the point, meritocracy.

On diversity.

You can put two people that are of the same race, creed, gender, place of national origin, and sexual preference in the same room and they WON'T agree on everything. As a matter of fact you'd be surprised as to how many subjects they'll disagree on. The point being that 'diversity' is a natural consequence of the pursuit of excellence. It matters not if you're a software engineer, a brick layer, or a janitor. Being the best you can be at whatever you choose to do brings with it a dignity that mandated diversity will NEVER bring. The notion that because someone is of a differing race, creed, gender, place of national origin, or sexual orientation they bring some special, and unique, skill to the table is BULL SHIT.

No, meritocracy is not the point in many cases. Diversity is the point in and of itself. You will never be a black woman if you are not one. I will never be a Japanese male. There are things that each group experiences differently from any other group and you cannot duplicate that.

Also the pursuit of excellence will not naturally produce diversity for a lot of reasons. For starters there are plenty of places you can only get if there is someone who will open the door for you. Power in this country and really the world has been concentrated in white males for all of western history. G.W Bush and Jeb are not the best or brightest. I don't think G.W. is as dumb as people make him out to be and Jeb is talented, boring but talented but his father opened doors for him he couldn't open for himself.

Brick layers. . .yeah go look and see who the foremans are, they aren't the blacks and Hispanics unless there are literally no white people cus the owner hooks up his friends and family and our country is still very, very segregated.

I'm not a computer engineer so I have NO clue if diversity would do shit there. I know it would do tons for Hollywood from top to bottom.

I know it would do tons for the legal system.

Nobody is even talking about people who aren't good enough to do the job. There are a shit ton of jobs that a pure meritocracy is simply impossible no matter how you slice it. Lets say for the sake of argument you don't like diversity. Do you think that say if all else was equal (or roughly so) that there is NO value in bilinguals (pick any two languages doesn't matter or hell Tri, Quad whatever?) can understand American Sign Language? Cus I know 'thank you" that's the extent of it. That puts me past most of you clowns but useless. So my grades being above that person means nothing.

And that's of course still pretending that all cultures are the same. African Americans and Americans of African origins are two entirely different animals.

The point is, you'll never be an engineer, mathematician, successful businessperson, or doctor, simply because of your race or gender. You have to enter into an educational and governmental meritocracy to do so. You have to bring knowledge skill and ability to the table, not your skin.
