Challenge: Foodie's Delight

Lather your leafy stalk with salted butter,
to drip your juice into my fertile field,
you eagerly yield a bountiful pre-harvest,
your syrup sticky on my fingers
I lick them clean, one by one gazing
into your eyes, a slave craving.

Constellations in my eyes shine
in the velvet of midnight.
Relishing in your essence that is broth
to my pallet, stimulating a primal urge
trembling beneath the erotic caress.
Begging, please my Master, please.
Feed me.
Penetrate me.

Not, of course, an American Sentence (only fourteen syllables), but (*smacks own head*), you're English, so all bets are off on whether that's a poem or not.

In any case, it's pretty funny, though. :)

I have a confession to make, I stole it. Well not really stolen as I had permission to post it by someone close to me :)

Tapas

Pickled refrigerator veggies,
carrots, greenbeans, cauliflower, cukes
Served in a simple half pint canning jar
Refreshing acidic flavors cleanse the palate

Grilled creole shrimp
Rich flavors fill my mouth
In one bite
Fingers stained with spice

Pulled pork with cilantro
Neatly piled on a mini tortilla
Tomatillo salsa,
tangy on my tongue

Oysters Rockefeller
Hot from the broiler
Bright green spinach
Creamy hollandaise
Layered tastes
Slurped off the shell
Dabbing my lips
After each one

Marionberry hopped cider
Cold clean berry finish
The perfect compliment
For the varied flavors
Small plates fill the table
Smears of garnish
The only remains

Thank you! Baby Zucchini, cukes, broccoli, and bells soon. I should make some brine and add as they become available.

ETA: For those wondering Marionberry

Indeed marionberry is a local delight here in Cascadia.
Marionberry pie is most excellent.
And bumbleberry pie is marionberry, huckleberry and raspberry ...oh so delish!

This is a delicious poem. :rose: The grilled shrimp, especially, sounds wonderful. And the cider! I've never had marionberry. Is the taste similar to raspberry? Think I read that somewhere once, but am probably misremembering.

if i could have my H and eat him...

pass me the spoon
i want to tunnel through frosting
scoop rainbowed thoughts
that spark and crackle
all the flavours of an artist
delve sweet bones
ingest salted marrow
suck on candied visions of his eyes
snack on a flowered heart
nibble on cinnamon tuilles of his skin
dip a finger in turquoise swirls
and lick him from my fingers
then
clean up any crumbs
return for seconds

I've been researching! The Marionberry looks like a big Blackberry and the Huckleberry like a Blueberry! Raspberries I know, my garden is so full of them that family and friends hide when I'm trying to give them away :D

Love!!! So many vivid, cascading images.

Oh I love blackberries: they grow wild around here, just have to watch for the brambles when you pick them. And watch out for the black bears. They like blackberries too.

So could you send me a few quarts of those raspberries? I'll make ice cream. :D

My Southern Lover

Explain the difference big boy.
Tell me again how grills don't do
meat justice. Tell me again
how my palate is odd
when you can bite a deep fried
pickle dipped in ranch and call
it delicious. My sours revolted
and turned into bitter. No more
would I pucker up
and grinning tell you beans
are meant to be smoky and dill
pickles should be crisp and cold.
I can't argue that brisket
is better smoked. I agree.
If you want it pickled
go to a deli in Jersey and don't
argue beef with an Albertan.

I like this poem, Champie. It's funny, argumentative, biased (in a good way), and has a killer last line.

Overall, an excellent contribution to the thread. :rose:

What he said. :). And it makes me very happy that you joined in.

Also I agree with you about pickles, especially the ranch part.

yes yes and yes

the oversweet beans aren't a favourite of mine and warm, flabby pickles are a definite 'no, thankyou, i'll pass'

Blackberries grow wild here too, used to pick masses when we were kids (keeping a close eye out for the bull in the field!). They grow wild up the lane opposite my house , but last year we tried growing a hanging basket variety. The Robins found it hanging in the greenhouse this year and raised a nest of 5 babies in it!

Combine butter and garlic, spread legs and roll,
in bed covers until oil heats in a 2 quart saucepan.
Mix creole seasoning and flour.
Dredge shrimp in flour then egg; roll in panko.
Fry shrimp in batches until golden brown.
Spread remoulade sauce on tits.
Top with shrimp, followed by shredded lettuce.

The challenge is over on Monday, May 28 at midnight PST. The winner is the person who posts the last entry before the challenge ends.

Mine was past the witching hour, so that means you're it Champ :)

:caning:
Over all... i think Harry may be right  but then again, Angie may have meant that the challenge was over at 2 am EST on TUESDAY, May 28th... in which case Harry would still be right ... however, if Angie got the number of the day wrong then Annie's right and the challenge was over at 2 am EST TODAY, May 27th

We need moderation by the OP

wrong :cattail: I copied the quote so as to be sure Angie's monkey wrench was not lost but kept mum about it because I was anticipating the drama that is now
