Well I added a thread to Professor Puppetmaster. It takes a little bit of a feminine side but I think it works for the next thread I want to add. I hope you like it... it's very unusual for me to add so much to a single thread, especially without very much dialog. I'll make up for that too in the next thread. Yeah... tell me what you think.

And Torg, you declined my last story idea. BASTARD... just kidding. I realized it didn't have much potential on my part. I'm thinking of something like with what me and B1G_Bro were working on, but with multiple endings and story ending decisions... like how the real choose your own adventure books used to be. I really don't see a lot of them on CHYOO so it might work out.

I wish B1G_Bro would contribute on his own story, it pisses me off the story may never get finished cause I sure is hell am not finishing it for him.

I think i got all the errors now. For some reason I have the feeling that Jenny in the story was kind of important to you. I sometimes have characters like that. Nah, she wasn't any more important than the other characters. I just wanted a section of the story that felt very different from the rest of the threads. I like lots of choices and variety in these things. I wouldn't even mind if someone branched off in a darker direction with Jenny or a lighter direction with one of the other characters.

A white cloud of death fills the shitty little hell hole, occasionally referred to as the office, as you snuff the life out of your last cigarette with tar dyed fingertips. The very last cigarette, because after tonight… you open the drawer and stroke the cold steel barrel of a Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver… the only thing that will be smoking in this room was the hand cannon, as it blows your useless brains out. You close the drawer. It wasn’t time yet… not yet.

You stare at the dusty Underwood Touch-Master 5 typewriter as it silently stares back. The two of you were the best of friends, and the worst of enemies. In hardships, bloody fists banged against its relentlessly unyielding metallic frame. With desperation came a torrent of salty tears as they rained upon its chivalrous synthetic surface. Celebration, though so very long ago, was also shared with your only true companion.

The dimly lit florescent bulbs shudder, whining its annoying electrical buzz, as the New York MTA races by. The sound of dripping water echoes in your ears, as the passing train shakes a few more droplets of last nights downpour free from the rotting ceiling. You check your wristwatch; 3:08 pm. Only a couple more hours and this will all be over.

Bloodshot eyes deliriously scan the more glorious days in life as framed newspaper clippings swamp the rustic paint peeled walls. You humor yourself, reading a few of the meaningless one liners. Famous last words.

Oh, sorry, I see you mean the June number you saw last night is far higher than the number Switch76 is reporting. Perhaps you can compare URLs and see if the 3000 number is computed in the same way that the 2000ish number is... is 3000 the "lifetime" views vs. 2000 the "per month" ?

It's actually Switch76's list. The best way I've found to avoid counting lines (which is easier in Word) is to advanced search for the title of the story in question, with "story titles and synopsis" and "show results as threads" clicked. And search. Go to the last page. Hopefully, your story title doesn't get any false positives. The last thread will be the number of threads there are.

I was busy on 31st May so I took the reading on the 30th. So for the first 30 days your story got about 2092 views and you got a surge of 1000 views on the 31st.

The readings are taken as close to the end of the month as I can manage. They will never be 100% accurate as I'd have to be up at midnight EST on the last day of each month (which is 5am in my timezone.) If any American member (or insomniac) would like to do the reading for absolute accuracy, I'm happy for them to do it.

alienanax, a small addition to Torg's advice on how to count threads; remember to keep in mind that threads which you turn down (there will eventually pop up one or two additions which will contain nothing more than a single sentence, possbily even completely nonsensical) also count amongst the threads listed.

Thanks for the warning. Luckily I have only had to turn away one thread (which was indeed riddled with spelling/grammar errors and of course was just a sentence long. I think it messed up continuity as well.) so that takes my total from 101 to 100. I'm still happy.

The May Number at 1051pm May 31 EST was exactly 3000 views. Almost a thousand more than what was put up here. Total lifetime views is at 5744.

whoa, seriously? that sounds mad improbable--800 views on a single day is a TON.
