I'm drinking the spicy elixir of SRP again too, discussing ideas with someone with a view to starting out soon. I'm impressed by some of his other work so I'm going to have to really focus on doing the story justice. Particularly as his concept is already really close to heart.

Two fun starters and one ambitious one where you're reaching for perfection. What sort of post size do you try for? Obviously it depends on what you're responding to, but generally?

Post size varies but generally; multiple paragraphs of detailed and edited work. For me it's creative writing first and smut second. Plus I love exploring my character's emotions, rather than focusing purely on the physical.

I am..still working my way back after such a long absence, if I'm honest. But it's slowly getting better, and maybe as the best sign, I'm starting to get ideas again. That and the plotting was generally always my strong suit, so when I had a hole where ideas used to be, it was a tad worrying.

But! Slowly but surely. One step at a time and such.

Yeah, when you look over your shoulder into the corner of your mind where kinky shit is inspired and there's nothing there, that's very worrying. I have RL shit going on at the moment that I was convinced would leave me singularly uninspired. I find myself more in need of distraction and fictional dalliance than I anticipated. Plus I'm on leave from work right now, broke and bored shitless. But hey, every silver lining and all that shit.

Could be different circles, yeah. I feel like your name is familiar, but I don't know that we've ever talked before. I've been around for a while (holy shit, my account is 13 years old!), but was effectively gone for the last 8 months or so. Life and all, you know?

But! You can click on the "My Active Threads and Ideas" link in my sig, that's where I try to stick most stuff just so I don't forget it. Currently I have my thread with Anony here, and I'd like to restart some of my dormant ones because the stories were too good to just let die. I also have one about a cartel that, basically, kidnaps women, effectively brainwashes them, and then sells them to the highest bidder as.. human sex dolls, I guess you could say.

You know, bright, happy stuff!

And I think there's also something about a doll maker, some kind of strange supernatural-y thing, maybe mad science-y, with a man making human dolls, tweaking and changing them to his exacting preferences...

That one isn't fully formed yet, but it's something, anyway.

And I am a rambly bastard! Jesus!

Anyway: Tea! I have a ridiculous, obscene amount of tea. I like the smell of coffee, but unfortunately that's about where it ends for me. What about you?

Weirdly, I was not at a loss for kinky ideas - I think that may just be kind of a fundamental part of my nature, like sarcasm or tacos - but story ideas were just not happening. I went from more than I could ever hope to write to just zero. It coincided with me also getting really busy and distracted with a lot of other life things, so it's not terribly surprising, but it was a bit concerning at times.

But, here I am, so hopefully that's passed now.

I am, however, happy to help provide as much distraction as I can. Buddha knows I'm more than acquainted with a need for that from time to time.

Plus it's free, which always helps!

Thanks, it should be good. I prefer exploring the emotional growth of my character too rather than just seeing how quickly we can rip her clothes off. What's wrong with a touch of romance, even if it might not be quite the conventional sort?

I'm a tea drinker for choice - green or black as the mood takes me, though I try not to sully it with milk. Coffee.. yeah, how can something that smells as good as it does taste that bad personal choices I know, but it's always puzzled me and I keep going back to see if it's changed. No luck yet, although I can drink an affogato if it's important to someone.

And I can understand why Anony is so excited about climbing back into the hot story tub with you - I hope you both have fun putting all the different fragments of that story together into a compelling finished work.

It's handy to have my ideas thread to dump things on as they pop up so that my random acts of inspiration aren't completely wasted by their inevitable bad timing. I stuck my nose into the politics forum the other day, enticed by a thread discussing the UK's position in the EU. After about fifteen minutes of scrolling and posting, I'm actually laughing out loud at myself. I mean, who the fuck goes onto a sex forum to discuss politics? How is that recreational? Why should I give a flying fuck what these people think? It astonishes me, the number of people who only seem to visit Lit to discuss politics. Now that is truly depraved.

There is, really, no telling what I'm doing at any given point. Although I also don't wander much out of SRP and the Lounge here, so you wouldn't really have seen my elsewhere.

Yeah, green and black tend to be my teas of choice, as well. Although I take milk in my black tea, as a rule, unless it's iced (just in case there was any question on where I was from!). Currently, I've been drinking the hell out of a vanilla black, and a citrus green. I like some unflavored blacks, a Darjeeling or something like that maybe, but generally I tend to go for a flavored tea. I have a good chai that I'll make occasionally, too. And, now I'm rambling about tea.

Also, I have no idea what an affogato, though from context clues I'm assuming it is not my first thought: an alligator with an afro. But, you're welcome for that mental image.

A hot story tub sounds like a.. strange and interesting place to be. I hope it won't get my fingers wrinkly, though.

I haven't heard her or that song before, but I actually kind of like it.

But yeah, I'm having ideas anyway. It's kind of absurd the way I'll come across something random, and then it turns into, "And what if there was a frightened, possibly naked woman involved, too!" and hey ho, we've got ourselves a story. Hell, one of my favorite threads, that I've actually spun off into at least one more, was inspired by a commercial I saw for a show I've never watched. Crazy.

Anyway, yeah.. you'd be pretty hard pressed to find a thread of mine that didn't venture rather deeply into the darkness. There's just so many interesting things hiding in there...

Yeah, the ideas thread definitely helps.

Now, I just need to clone myself, so I have the time to actually do these things. And if the five or six people I tend to write with could do the same, that might be helpful...

I'm looking forward to having a coherent idea on it! It's in there somewhere, I just have to let it roll around a little bit more and something will pop out. And I have to find someone to write it, of course, but.. one thing at a time! And I think figuring out the whys and wherefores of the sexy slavey times cartel thing is probably something I'll do first.

Yeah, there is no part of me that plans to ever go to the politics forum here. Not even on a dare. I've seen how people can be on here, and I don't want to even imagine those same people trying to intelligently talk about taxes or foreign policy or reproductive rights. Jesus, I shudder to even think about that.

I have Twinings mostly, although I do go on runs of their different blends. I have T2 Apple Tea as well (with Apple bits in it!) but the quantity per cup can be a little erratic.
