Imagine a young man and a young woman standing some distance apart, perhaps 50 meters. On a command, they are told to move half the distance to the midpoint to them. Then on a second command, they move halfway from where they are now standing to the midpoint between them. And then again several times.

At what point will they actually reach the point half way between them?
