D/s Hypnosis

I've practiced hypnosis for 20-something years. Hypnosis and trance are naturally occurring phenomena.

About the only way I know for hypnosis to be unethical is if you believe the person will consensually do something they are normally inhibited about, and will be embarrassed about later. You cant force people to do what they dont really want to do, but hypnosis kinda loosens them up a little if they have the appetite.

Plus all hypnosis is self hypnosis.

When I influence a woman to have sex with me you can call it hypnosis or seduction, but the bottom-line is: I act a certain way and she responds to it.

I agree. The feelings of "hypnosis" I have had with my Dom, although very short term, resulted from my feelings of love for him, so I was definitely a willing participant.

I'm not so sure I would want hypnosis included as part of our D/s. Not because I fear it, but because I don't want to do anything that was assumed in any way to be influenced in any way other than my honest desire to do it as an act of submission. I tend to think of it to some degree as the same as those who feel they need a couple of drinks. or drugs to loosen up their inhibitions before submitting...I don't want to ever feel, or for him to feel, I need something to ease my acquiescence. After managing to quell my desire to take flight when he branded me while standing and without any restraint, I don't want to step backward.

Reading your post the question in my mind is: How do you possibly avoid hypnosis. It's like avoiding breathing. The attraction between two people, alone, is about as hypnotic as things get. Sex is hypnotic. Conversation is hypnotic.

I tend to not name things what they aren't just because to do so seems cool, or sensational, or perhaps paints a picture of something fantasy is made of...it is the realist in me. As much as I have a limitless imagination, I am careful not to let it get out of control to the point of confusing things. To me, D/s and sex are just 2 things I make sure I do fully by choice, not by some image of uncontrollable 'brain on holiday' type of romanticised compulsion. Sorry. it is just who I am...don't believe in leaving any opportunity to later say, 'Oh, I didn't have any choice, I was totally victimised', or anything similar whichj often comes from the mouths of those who profess to be overtaken by some unseeable force....for me the force is F, not some form of hynosis, and I am fully aware of everything that takes place between us and more than willing to enjoy it unhindered. :cathappy:

Fungi, you're back !! Excellent, you've been missed.

I'm not sure if I'm back or not. I might pop in and check out what's been going on though.

Well isnt Subspace some form of Hypnosis... When your in Subspace your really not concious of whats going on around you.. I would be game to get into Hypnosis to experience more of a control than I already do... I really would I might have to bring that up to MYD

I don't know about D/s hypnosis but when I was in college some performing monkey got me up on stage and tried to hypnotize me...he failed.

I don't actually think of subspace as the same or a form of hypnosis, but regardless, subspace is not a place he is keen on me going to as my submission is about him, not me, and if in subspace there is that floating away from that purpose in that I would not be totally focused on him, his needs, and experiencing the pain in a way he wishes it to be experienced.

My opinion and experiences haven't changed since this topic originated. For me, subspace is almost totally opposite of hypnosis. The only commonality is that they have an intense impact on me.

I would never consider hypnosis with a Dom. It's probably a moot point, it takes a great deal of self control for me to enter a hypnotic state and it doesn't happen unless I feel very secure that i am in total control of what's happening around me. Not really the state of mind most Dom's are looking for.
