Daydream_weaver's Refuge

Ah. We never do get eoough time. But I understand. I was once one of those growing, too big for his own good teenages at one time. I don't know where my mom got the power to keep feeding me.

Well, if you find time, do say hello again ;p

One of these is a head taller and a foot wider at the shoulders than I am...and he's not done growing yet. Don't know where he gets it, must be some giant blood in there somewhere.

*leans over and kisses Jack's cheek, lips moving against his skin*...you have fun, Jack, I'll see you another time.

*poofs into the small cabin, a mug of hot coffee in hand with a plate of cookies balanced on top...a snack to fuel me while I take care of some business.

Setting the cup and plate on the coffee table by the sofa I turn toward the sleeping alcove, removing my apron as I go. I stand for a moment then grin, deciding to keep on my 'cookie' boy shorts and just slip on a men's white dress shirt over the top.

A fire is crackling on the hearth when I return to the sofa, just to take the morning chill from the air. I snuggle down, a black bound book and silver pen appearing in my hands.

Need to go back a few months...need to read...there is a decision to be made...I reach for my coffee*

slips in and bites her bum ..mmm cookies. then poofs

*Walks up to the path, to the cabin, and knocks on the door, wondering if anyone is home. In case of not, leaves a note*

Did you find the information about D&D for your son useful? If you have any other questions, I would be glad to help out.

*The sun has come...warm and radiant. Unable to help myself I take my book and slip out to the back deck for a while. The sunlight glints off silvery hair, and brings a hint of color to pale skin...so nice...

An errant breeze toys with a lock of hair, displaying a slightly pointed ear before wisping off to play. I hear it whistle around the corner of the cabin, hear a papery flapping and watch as the breeze brings me a slip of paper.

ah Jack, sweet man...

*pressing my lips to the paper I leave an imprint of my kiss and send it flying on the breeze to find the author*

*A single candle burns inside the small, cozy cabin. Just enough light to cast a few dancing shadows on the walls. I don't need to see where I am going. I make my way across the room by instinct more than by sight.

The cool night air sends a shiver over my skin as I step out onto the back deck. The thin silk of my robe giving no protection from the spring chill. Gooseflesh runs along my arms and down my spine, my nipples hardening to diamond points. But it is good to be outside.

I stand for a moment, head tilted back to gaze up at the star filled sky, listening to the sounds of the night...*

*A nightbird calls, somewhere off in the darkness of the woods. Branches sway and leaves rustle. It is getting late, but my bed holds no appeal. Tonight it is the shadows between the trees that whisper to me. The places in between where worlds meet and paths cross.

Almost without thought I step down from the deck, hardly aware that my feet are bare. There is a pull...something there...in the trees.

My feet carry me across the grassy clearing to the edge of the wood. Eyes stare into the darkness, curious what it holds...who it holds*

Though he had never wandered here before, he knew of someone who lived in these parts. He had never really gotten to know her, and perhaps that was why he had a difficult time finding his way to her cabin. He was wandering quietly among the trees, though, enjoying the cool night air all the same. A late stroll could be relaxing.

So when he finally herd someone approaching from a grass clearing, he looked up, somewhat surprised. He was not, perhaps, as quiet as his name might suggest. He smiled as he stepped into the clearing, his eyes quickly scanning the lovely vision in the robe. He smiled as he met her eyes, stepping forward.

It would seem that I am not alone in struggling to find sleep this evening. Noon chuckled. I'm sorry to impose, I just happened to be in the neighborhood. I hope that I've not disturbed your solitude. He gave her another quick study.

Would you mind a bit of company? He gave her a wry smile.

*My nighttime wanderings have taken me far and away, distraction a fickle mistress not easily captured. Slipping back through the trees I seek the familiar comfort of my refuge. The cool of the night is quickly turning to predawn chill. Perhaps something to drink...something warm and rich and sweet. And perhaps...a visitor.

It would seem that I am not alone in struggling to find sleep this evening. I'm sorry to impose, I just happened to be in the neighborhood. I hope that I've not disturbed your solitude.

I smile as I move closer, trying to not be too obvious as I let my gaze take him in. I've seen him before, passed a friendly word from time to time. To find him here, in these woods, is an unexpected pleasure.

Would you mind a bit of company?

*One step closer, just into the edge of that space defined by his energy. I can feel him...I take a slow breath, catching his scent and my smile deepens.

Visitors are never an imposition, in fact I have far too few.

*Another step and I boldly slip my arm through the crook of his and rest my hand on his forearm. The warmth of him reaches my skin through the thinness of my robe and I shake my head slightly. Always wandering off innappropriately dressed for the occasion*

I was just heading back to my refuge, you are welcome to join me. I can offer you a coffee if you like...or something else more suited to your tastes.

*Keeping my hand on his arm I turn back toward the faint path, bare feet making no sound at all*

*A gentle breeze filters through the open windows of the small cabin carrying the fresh scent of Spring. For a moment I contemplate putting on some music, but what sound could be sweeter than the woods as evening closes in. Leaving the doors open wide I step out onto the back deck to watch the final rays of the sun through the trees.

Pushing silvery hair from my cheek I turn my face into the light to catch its fading warmth. The breeze brings a bit of chill, reminding me that winter is not so long past as the day would have me believe. It ruffles my hair and tugs gently at the light summer dress I chose for the day, molding the loose cloth against my thighs and hips.

As I watch the light dims more and more...night comes softly, stealthily...and it causes me to smile*

Noon returns. An invitation had been issued, a while ago, and he intends to respond to it at some point. He feels the breeze at his back as he approaches the clearing, his feet leaving a small crunch of fall leaves remaining on the ground in the woods before he finally reaches it. Having found it once, it was easy enough to find again.

He smiled as he saw the cabin's lovely occupant on her back deck, watching the fall of the sun. The wind was flirting with her dress, bringing a smile to his face as he approached. He gave her a slight nod before speaking up.

"Well, miss Weaver, you did offer me coffee, once. I'm hoping the offer still stands." He gave her a wry smile as he leaned against the railing of the deck, before winking at her playfully. "Hopefully the timing is not inconvenient for you."

*A faint scent, familiar and yet new, reaches me. A visitor come to call. I watch him as he approaches, admiring the length of his leg, the confidence in his step.*

"Well, miss Weaver, you did offer me coffee, once. I'm hoping the offer still stands. Hopefully the timing is not inconvenient for you."

The offer most certainly still stands. In fact I believe there is a fresh pot brewing as we speak...

*I step forward to greet him, a pale hand reaching to brush along his forearm. A slow smile curves my lips as I let my fingertips linger*

In fact, consider it an open invitation...would you like to come inside? The evening is growing a bit chill.

He smiled as she stepped forward to green him, feeling the warm touch of her hand against his arm. He couldn't help but respond to the tactile greeting, his own hand pressing against her hip for a moment as he nodded at her. "Well it seems that my timing is very good. Though, considering the hour, I should hope it's decaf."

He then grinned and nodded, stepping forward. His body almost pressed against hers, looking down at her. Forward of him or not, he couldn't help but to lean down and kiss her cheek softly as he brushed against her. Then he nodded once again. "Yes, it's growing chill, by all means let's go in." He followed her inside, closing the door behind them against the cool of the evening. He let his eyes study the interior, bemused that it was belied by the exterior as he followed her to the kitchen.

"Generous of you to extend an open invitation."

*The brush if his body causes my smile to deepen and I lean into his kiss for a moment. Ice blue eyes look up into his as I pull slowly away and turn toward the door*

Decaf it shall be...

*Kicking off my sandals I make my way on bare feet to the kitchen, the skirt of my dress swaying around my legs as I move. A fire crackles on the hearth and flickering candles give light as well as a pleasing scent. I hear the click of the door closing and take a deep breath, glancing over to watch him for a moment*

Please, make yourself comfortable. Coffee will be right up.

*Humming softly under my breath I quickly assemble a tray with two mugs of steaming coffee and the usual additions...just in case. It only takes a moment before I am sliding the tray onto the low table by the sofa.

Folding one leg beneath me as I settle into the cushions I once again find my eyes are drawn to him, simply watching him curiously.*

He watched her light dress as it swished against her legs, following her inside. He had an easy smile practically etched onto his lips as he glanced around the interior. The smell was pleasant, with the mix of coffee and the scent of candles. He turned, instinctively preparing to follow her toward the kitchen, but at her request that he get comfortable, he paused, and then nodded. He strolled over to the couch and then sank into it, relaxing as he looked into the hearth for the moment. The heat rising from it was comfortable compared to the chill of the evening.

But then he had to peek back over, watching as she prepared a tray, his eyes following her as she walked over to him. His lips were quirked up in a slight grin.

"Thanks very much for the invitation," he said, as she sat down to join him. He nodded politely and then reached out to grab his mug of coffee, adding a bit of creamer and one spoonful of sugar. He stirred it in before taking a quick sip, then gave her a wan smile as he cradled the cup in his hand. He studied his host for a moment, feeling her eyes on him. He looked at her legs, tracing them with his eyes thoughtfully, one bent down beneath her, the skirts parting slightly and threatening to draw his eyes. He quickly managed to slide his gaze back to her face with a quick grin.

"It's nice to have an opportunity to get to know you. We've both been around for quite a while, but never seem to have spoken much." He nodded thoughtfully.

"But I've definitely noticed you around, and I've admired some of your writings." He took another sip of the hot coffee, resisting the urge to sigh again. "Plus, it seems like you also share my occasional difficulties at finding sleep."

*Taking my own mug I cradle it in my hands, relishing the slight sting of heat on my palms. The dark liquid sends tendrils of fragrant steam past my face and I inhale deeply. This is one of my simple pleasures, and it is nice to share it with someone. I glance up through a silvery fringe of hair in time to catch him forcing his eyes to behave and smile knowingly. A slight shift and the cloth of my skirt falls away from my bent knee, exposing pale skin*

I've read quite a few of your writings as well. You write with some of my favored writers. Luna, Britwitch...

*Lifting the mug to my lips I take a sip, my eyes on him through the rising steam. I lower the mug, the tip of my tongue tracing my lower lip.*

I've wanted to invite you here before, but never had just the right opportunity. I didn't want to simply pop in on you and ask you to come visit. Now that you've been here, feel free to come back any time...if you wish. Especially on nights when we both seem to be wide awake in the obscenely late hours. We could keep each other company...

*Blatantly I let my eyes drift from his face, moving over him slowly before returning to meet his gaze.*

He noticed the knowing smile she gave him. She'd definitely caught his gaze lingering naughtily. He quirked his brow at her playfully, curving his lips up with a bit of contrite wickedness. Noon certainly noticed the way she shifted her legs to allow more of her skirt to slide up, exposing more pale skin of her thighs, but he was also aware he was being teased, and kept his eyes school to her face for the moment.

"Well I'm really just starting my first story with Brit, though I've engaged in several amorous Lounge moments with her, from time to time. And yes, you're one of Luna's favorites as well, I know." He smirked and then gave her another wink.

"Well, there was no need to be shy about inviting me. Then again, my roguish ways are well known, I supposed." He nodded as he took a sip of his coffee and then set his cup aside, back on the tray for a moment. He relaxed comfortably, enjoying the warmth of the drink as it his his stomach, and the aroma of it filling the room, intermingled with candlescent. It was a lovely place to be at the moment, and a lovely companion to share it with. He smiled at her as he saw her eyes studying him, sitting quite still under her gaze as he looked down at him and back up. He narrowed his and then wet his lips slightly. The mutual attraction was very apparent.

"And yes, it would be nice to have some company on those nights when I can't sleep easily. As seems to have happened far too often lately. It's a very lovely offer, as lovely as the hostess." He grinned and then scooted closer to her on the couch, closing the separation between them. His hand reached out to rest idly on that knee which was now bared, fingers curling lightly against soft skin as he studied her face. He then gave her an absolutely devilish grin as he leaned in slightly, looking into her eyes.

"So did you end up actually procuring that extra chocolate sauce you mentioned yesterday?" He chuckled, enjoying being slightly silly in the moment even as his hand was lightly stroking the skin of her bared thigh. his eyes were peeking down at her cleavage before looking back into her eyes.

*Laughing softly I lean forward and place my mug on the tray beside his, matching his movement and shifting a bit closer. I glance down at his hand on my thigh and reach out to brush the back of it with my fingertips. Such a light touch, almost innocent...almost. *

Perhaps I should host a sundae party. Everyone seems to like a good ice cream sundae.

*My fingers stroke lightly up from his wrist and rest on his forearm. I look up, a sparkle to my eyes as I lean toward him.*

And if I remember correctly, you requested sprinkles. I do hope the multicolored ones will do...and you have change coming.

She leaned in closer to him, even after she'd set her coffe mug down on the tray. He was looking down at her, noticing the way her hand moved on the back of his. Her fingers were lightly tracing on his skin. It was a simple contact that said quite a bit, a light tease of touch as they felt each other out. Her fingers moved up his forearm as he continued to massage the soft flesh of her thigh, enjoying the feel of it in his palm.

A sundae party does sound awesome. Something for summer, when it's quite hot outside and everyone is looking for a delicious icy treat. He chuckled softly as he wet his lips.

He saw the twinkle in her eye as she continued to lean in. He leaned back toward her, into her direction, watching her face. His eyes had an amused twinkle in them as his faced hovered before hers, his lips inches away. He was smelling her breath, practically tasting her flesh as it was so close to his lips. His other hand had slide out and was resting against her hip, now, curling fingers around onto her back. He spoke in a soft whisper, letting the warm words wash against her lips..

Good to know. Though what I had in mine might be much more suited to a private party.
He grinned wickedly, and then his lips lowered down to hers, pulling her into a deep kiss as he savored the taste of her lips and mouth. He leaned down, pressing into her, as he slide his tongue forward to part her lips.

*The conversation had been easy, lighthearted, almost playful. This kiss was the same...easy. But if wicked had a taste it would be his. I parted my lips, the tip of my tongue flicking out to tease and coax his. Hands ran up along his arms to curl over his shoulders and hold on, kneading lightly like a purring cat.

My lips moved against his, words whispered into his mouth*

In that case, I think whipped cream is in order as well.

*With a low laugh I slid my fingers up into his hair and pressed close against him, breasts soft against his chest. My lips nipped at his, teasing playfully. I was being good, playing nice. Teeth caught his bottom lip and tugged gently*

*The day is too nice to sit indoors, trapped behind walls of wood and windows of glass. As much as I love my cabin refuge today I need sun on my face and a breeze in my hair. Taking a path well known to me I wander through the woods, no rush, just enjoying the journey.

I hear the falling water before I see it. The sound is sweet and enticing, but it is still to early in the season for swimming. Today I will be content to sit beside the pool and let the water sing to me. The final bend in the path reveals my destination. The water bubbles happily as it falls over the rocks into the pool below, the sun reflects off the mist it stirs in rainbows and diamonds. It brings a smile to my face.

Choosing a spot I flick my hands out, a shadow crosses the mossy ground and a blanket falls, soft and inviting. With a nod of satisfaction I sink to my knees on the blanket, crawling to the center before laying flat out on my stomach. My sandals are kicked off, the bare soles of my feet facing skyward as I prop myself up on my elbows. A book comes to my hands, the cover well worn from the many times I have lost myself between its pages.

A sigh passes full lips...now I am content...*

A wolf comes wandering. Small feet pad through deep woods and verdant fields in a round about manner, never leading toward the cabin, only along the edges...until finally~a spot by the stream is found, staked out, relaxed upon.

A sigh is released.
