Reports say she had just finished paying for her extended family’s meal when she felt a brush against her leg — which she initially thought was one of her grandchildren before realizing her Gucci bag, which had been on the floor beside her foot, was missing.

“Just before 8 p.m., the suspect was able to sit at the table next to Noem’s, slide her purse toward him with his foot and walk out, all while she apparently dined with her family just feet from her Secret Service detail, sources told NBC.

The suspect, who was wearing an N-95 mask, stayed in the restaurant for a few minutes and then left with his purse under his jacket.”

It stinks to high heaven. Who carries $3000 in cash around with them? Who leaves their purse behind when they go to the restroom?
 
In summary, the obscenely rich head of Homeland Security, who sports a flak jacket, manicured nails, a personal hair/makeup crew, a Gucci handbag, and an occasional rifle errantly aimed at the person standing next to her during a photo op, was an easy mark for a thief at a restaurant.

Yeah, we're in good hands with Allstate.

Interestingly, this little detail seeped out. Noem's $300 Kate Spade purse was in a nook on the floor next to her table. Beside it was a $4000 Gucci purse from someone else in their party. The thief opted for the cheaper purse.
 
The really crazy / suspicious thing is that she went OUT to dinner with ZERO cash in her purse.

It's not weird. Some of us prefer to carry cash. She was negligent, but that said, she should fire her SS protection team.

Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor. And illegal immigrants are less likely than native-born citizens to commit serious crimes.
