I agree with this entirely. It's similar to when you have a written connection with someone on here - often it's hard to come by, but when you do click with someone and you clearly have similar wavelengths, senses of humour, or ways of talking and mentally toying with each other, then a vocal aspect to it just makes things even more enjoyable still - getting to enjoy the tone of their voice, any implicit humour or sarcasm or mischief.It depends on the voice. And content. I had a connection with a man on Lit. He was smart, interesting and I felt an attraction to him on many fronts. He wanted to send me a voice clip - I agreed. Unfortunately something about his voice triggered me. I don’t know why but it made me cringe and uncomfortable.
Other voices arouse from the first hello. There have been a few of those.![]()
Someone's voice or manner of speaking might not click for you, and could instantly cause you to lose interest. But that's not very common at all, for me anyway. And the various ways it can really heighten or elevate your conversation together makes it so worth the risk, I'd say
