longest one was 6 years for me and if that Master had his druthers we'd still be together. They last as long as people wish relationships to last. There are no guarantees. Things are what they are. If you're in a good one, great! Enjoy it!

I think it can last a long time if both parties are willing to work at it, as you have said.

Of course that requires communication, honesty, and committment. It helps if both parties are upfront about what they can and are willing to give at the start.

i'd think that a D/s or BDSM relationship would last longer than your average vanilla relationship due to the communication and honesty brought to the table.

Both Communication and Honesty are a must in ANY relationship, but in the nilla world, certain kinks may be frowned upon, or not accepted, so i myself had a tendency to keep that aspect of my life a secret. When it did come out i was looked upon as a different person, which i wasn't, but my first girlfriend couldn't get past the submissive needs i had.

i also believe there is a deeper bond between D/s/ BDSM couples than vanilla couples, not always mind you, but for the most part W/we kinksters are much more open to new things, and experiences, and have a lot more in common than your average nilla couple.

O/our current relationship has a few pitfalls that may trip us up, but W/we feel that any problem can be solved with open communication, and discussion. W/we all feel we have a long term committed relationship going on, and all have made changes needed to make our dreams a reality.

i also know that if for some reason W/we decide to go seperate ways, we'll always remain close friends.

i've already been told that the only way this relationship will end is by me returning the collar and leaving the relationship. i in turn told them that the only way it ends is by them asking me to go

so to answer the question....i hope so, believe it can, and look forward to my retirement years making fun of my younger, still working Dommes
