Don’t Let Anybody Tell You That You’re Safe

I have a couple sites that I use to find new music.

I’m always trying to find something new to listen to. I can kill a Saturday playing albums that I have not heard. I guess I feel if I find something new to put in rotation, then it was a productive day.

I checked the new releases set for tomorrow (October 15) and found that dUg Pinnick has a solo album coming out.

I bring this up not because I think either of you that follow my thread will like it, but because:

1. This guy just had his 71st birthday and still does what he wants.
2. His first solo album was titled Massive Grooves.
3. When I was 16, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska was released and it introduced a sound that really hasn’t been used with drop D tuning and distorted bass. The themes sucked, but that would change. Followed by Kyuss, Alice In Chains, and Tool, I was released from the spandex rock of the 80s (which I never liked).
4. My first concert has King’s X as the opening band. Yeah, AC/DC was the headliner and the sound was bad for King’s X, but it was still a good show.

Point is, I’ll give this album a listen. I hope it’s good, because these memories are too good to be left disappointed.

I’ll spare you from a picture this morning.

Again. 71.

Game five. This series should not be only five games. This is the two best teams in baseball. Bitter rivals.

I like them both. I like the game and those who respect the game.

Correa, Bregman, and Altuve have no respect. They can choke on a dick those fucking cheaters.

This game is all it is supposed to be so far.

I understand that many of you don’t like sports or baseball, but hear me out.

The television is being consumed with a football game.

The WiFi is down.

I pay for MLB.TV, but they blackout the playoffs.

When I was ten I used to listen to Niehaus call a very poor team’s games. He could really call a game. I remember getting a PC baseball game years later and listening to Ernie Harwell call baseball games.

I love the story telling. Vin Scully. Jack Buck. We all deserve a story being told to us. It reminds me of Niehaus telling me those stories when I was a kid. Hearing the children playing outside in the summer heat while I took in story time with Dave.

This is a baseball game and taking it in like I did when I was ten. Jon Miller telling me all the events. Chris Taylor gave a pitch a ride earlier. Miller gave it such s good call.

Baseball always reminds me of my childhood. Little changes. I have upgraded to AirPods to take in the play by play.

Mookie just got his third hit. Nobody else on the team can hit. It’s like that sometimes.

And I’m a purist. I love these low scoring games.

Mookie with the steal.

For the record, he stole a base legally. Not signs. Like the cheating Astros.

It’s late for me. I’m going to take this game in. Old school. In my room. Like when I was ten.

Seager with the RBI. That might be enough. Lots of ball left to play.

I’ll say this, ask the other teams left are not as good as these two teams. Whoever wins needs to take it all.

Thank you for reading.

Baseball. Strike outs. Grand slams. Pitching. I love it all. Soaking in the games. October. Sometimes it works.

And then, I find your perspectives and photos
Thanks for posting.

Your pics make me wet. Your words make me smile.

I do not understand.

I pay for MLB.tv and yet playoff games are blacked out.

I do not have any form of a television plan (or television) so I just check in.

I mean, what will I do without Ron Darling’s horrible takes?

We Are All So Fragile

We all have scars. No respectable person at 50 is going to be without scars. Hell, the scars start so early in life, that they are hard to recognize.

I tore my rotator cuff 21 years ago. Worst pain I’ve experienced.

Still is.

I did a ton of work today. Pushed a lot of weight around and am now lying in bed under the covers naked with the dog holding me down. He does that until wants up.

Today was a huge step towards burying the scars.

We are all so fragile.

My hands the most visible scars. I shouldn’t be allowed to carry a knife, but I do like to cook.

Sometimes it is just difficult to identify just how deep they go.

I hear the surgery is worse than the injury.

It’s about weighing it all out.

Sunday Vibe

When the needle hits wax it won't be long
You got your radio tuned but it won't play this song
It's the sweetest sound you ever heard
And the metal flaked cherries, always pass the word

You rub your genie down to get the news
It's time to ride with the strange dudes
Suns up, and we like it hot
And we take our time... 'Cause it's what we got

Yea the man shakes me down and that's why I'm broke
The rich man's got all the green, but it ain't the kind ya smoke
So we turn up the rock, and we roll it slow
And we're always flying high... and the ride's always low

There's something about a guy just going about his business that makes me want to come up behind him and take advantage of the situation

I’ve always needed distractions.
Someplace to focus my energy.
I guess it could be an idle hands thing.

I don’t really think so.
It’s more that this brain is not a good place to live.

I spent my youth playing sports year round
I mean, when I wasn’t learning all the Tik Tok dances.
I decided I’d learn how to cook a little
The key is spices and flavor and a little patience
Not sugar
I dabble in photography (you thought I was going to put Def Leppard or Nickelback there? Fuck no.
I try to keep my mind focused

I’ve had lots of time to sit in my head lately

So I pulled out the bass guitar I purchased years ago
I didn’t, necessarily, buy it for myself
But it’s in my hands now <- actual picture

Seems like a nice midlife crisis thing to do
Focus on the bass lines

Who knows?
But I can’t sit in my head
Maybe if I envision myself on a stage

Something about it
When a woman watches me get ready
Stripped down from what was
Ready for what could be

There’s that dynamic
Setting the table for the rest of the day

That temptation to go back to bed
But I’ma responsible adult
