Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

Thank you. That made me smile. Not for the reason you think. But because I would be sneezing my head off. I have allergies 😊.

Understood. This picture of a crochet octopus might be more appropriate...

And in other news, I continue to avoid the AI hoodoo…

I’m not a good writer, and probably never will be, but I have fun. I hope - when it publishes - you also have fun reading my Lily-themed Valentine’s Day story. It’s basically a sweet story, with some sex thrown in gratuitously.

Good luck to the other competitors.

Don't you bring that AI evil to this thread! We're all naturally dumb here and that's how we likes it!

Will you stop this nonsense, Little Nerd? Speaking from a standpoint of an experienced teacher, I can tell you that this statement is a load of crap. Whatever your present skill level is (I honestly have no idea), you can get good in time and with the right mindset. Both of us have been at this for a little more than a year. It is ridiculous to think that a person can become a good writer in that time period, all the while having a proper day job and whatnot else. Talent plays a role, I guess, but same as everything else, becoming a good writer requires time and hard work.

There is only one advice I would like to give you, once again, from the standpoint of a teacher with experience. People here like you in general, myself included, so they are unlikely to give you some honest truth in this particular sense. It is easier just to shower praise and I understand that. This is a fun place. But if you truly want to improve faster, find someone whose critical opinion you trust, and who is WILLING to be brutally honest with you and then heed his/her advice. The same goes for me and every other writer-beginner on this board.

Um, just be very careful who you ask, OK? ;)

I don’t mind criticism. I like to improve. I’ve been writing just over a year; that’s it. I’m not very good. I’d like to be better. The problem is when nothing constructive is offered. Nothing to work on.

Had a comment on a story once, the first one I posted I believe, it basically said, you wrote a report, not a story and outlined some pretty glaringly bad things I done from a writers perspective, and included the statement, I didn't score it because it was to awful to score.

Others tend to disagree, it was actually scored fairly well, but it did get me to do some basic research on some things, and I think I've improved, so I thank him for pointing some things out and I hope the tiny penis he's overcompensating for works out for him ;)

I’m quite happy getting better organically. This is a hobby and not my only hobby.
That is perfectly fine. I was just reacting to the tone in your post that sounded pessimistic to me, unrealistically so. Taking this place and our writing here in the right dosage is probably a smart and healthy approach.

Watch the tiny penis shaming please... 😜

Maybe the site should be renamed to Pompousrotica.

Wait... We're not the epicenter of your very being, the core of your existence???
Do you have any idea how many hearts you just crushed by saying such a thing?
Next you'll be saying you have one of those J.O.B. things, too.🤣

Hello again!

Is there a thread or somewhere I can go to for help (peer review) regarding my work being rejected due to AI? My story has just been rejected a second time, and I would like to have someone help me figure out why it might be getting rejected as AI. I know we can't really tell the real reason or criteria, but i dunno, maybe a second set of eyes could help me identify something I'm missing so I can edit it appropriately?

I've never been a writer and still am not. I just started because I wanted to share some erotic fantasies/thoughts my writing is definitely bad. I wouldn't be surprised if my bad writing is what is triggering the AI detection or whatever, so I thought maybe peer review could help me get through?
