Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

So it's Saturday night and I've finished my work for the day.
What's going on here?

I'm back working on my "blind girl" story that I've picked up and put down at least nine times by now, ever since the summer. :( I'm finally somewhat pleased with the direction it's going, and the first half or so of the story, but I think it loses traction quickly in the second act. Don't know if I should scrap that half and start again, or if I should attempt to salvage it. I really want to get this one right, due to the sensitive subject matter.

I suppose that's the advantage of blind girls. You can try and pick them up again and again, and they won't recognise you.

We need to gang up un @Duleigh.
These things are addictive. 🤣
I WARNED you!

I moved to Florida for the warmth, and the only warmth I'm getting is from my space heater. The weather service just issued a
WIND CHILL ADVISORY - IN FLORIDA!!! I was promised global warming and I get this crap. I want my money back

If all magic was like that, magicians would be much more popular.

I'm curious why her socks stay on.
look at the state of the bedding and the carpet. Would you willingly walk barefoot in that room? I've got chills.

nice quads though.

It's a stone floor, I think. You can see the reflection of the bedpost. It's probably cold.

(And again, we never have these discussions when it's a redhead in the picture.)

From the look of the rest of the room, I doubt it's a stone floor. Perhaps linoleum or some other kind of laminate. Good catch on the reflection, though.

It looks like the stone floors you see in a lot of European buildings from the 1920s and 1930s. I've seen them in modern holiday homes and renovated hotels as well.

ugh; it has the speckling that is identical to the sort of cheap carpet flung down in modern houses. I'm not sure which is worse!

Perhaps. The lack of any visible joints, grout, etc. (in this and several other pictures I have since looked up) still makes me lean toward it being a laminate rather than polished stone, but I suppose a sufficiently skilled mason could lay it and make it look smooth enough for the fairly casual examination possible in photographs.

Absolutely, and for real, it’s winter. It’s fucking cold. Who goes without sleep cos in the winter???

Probably epoxy. We have epoxy floors in our summer cottage. Ours are not speckled like that, but speckle add-ins are common.

And don’t assume it’s cold. We love our floors… and the radiant heat installed in the concrete slab below. Very cozy!

Oh… I said “summer cottage”. Don’t let that fool you. We've been snowed-in twice. My wife absolutely loves the heated floors, and keeps goading me to build another house in our hometown to do the same thing.
