Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

Is it just me, or does it look like there's a huge monster coming towards the boat? Like Godzilla rising out of the sea.

I have thalassophobia, and those dark patches give me the screaming jeebies.

Luckily, though, I'm familiar enough with the Med to know that it's just seaweed. I've put on a mask and fins before and dived down - nothing down there but urchins, fish, and the occasional tiny tentacle monster cocktopus.

But yeah. Even the experienced skippers all confess that they still don't like swimming above the seaweed.

newbie error - staring at your feet. You've got to watch the horizon until your inner ear stops throwing a hissy fit.

Also, throwing up helps.
I knew people who got sick as soon as we cast off leaving Pearl Harbor. And being a protected harbor, it's flat as a pancake.

Transiting to Maui was always fun on Tiger Cruises. The channels between the islands can be wicked.

I never got sick all my time in the Navy, no matter how much we rolled. It's actually quite relaxing laying in your bunk being rocked to sleep.
