I don't know either one of you, but
Congratulations!!
I know where London is, but the only Backwater I could find was in Puducherry (which sounds kinda like a wedding night thing), India
Congrats to you both. I can highly recommend hanging out with another poet.

oh, D.E - i've never read that before. it's incredible! thankyouI've barely known butters and don't know Mr Hill at all. But butters was so welcoming and warm to a nervous newbie that I can only imagine how overwhelmingly wonderful she must be to the man she loves. Many sincere congratulations to you both.
May your eventual wedding night be something like this:
Bride and Groom Lie Hidden for Three Days
by Ted Hughes
She gives him his eyes, she found them
Among some rubble, among some beetles
He gives her her skin
He just seemed to pull it down out of the air and lay it over her
She weeps with fearfulness and astonishment
She has found his hands for him, and fitted them freshly at the wrists
They are amazed at themselves, they go feeling all over her
He has assembled her spine, he cleaned each piece carefully
And sets them in perfect order
A superhuman puzzle but he is inspired
She leans back twisting this way and that, using it and laughing
Incredulous
Now she has brought his feet, she is connecting them
So that his whole body lights up
And he has fashioned her new hips
With all fittings complete and with newly wound coils, all shiningly oiled
He is polishing every part, he himself can hardly believe it
They keep taking each other to the sun, they find they can easily
To test each new thing at each new step
And now she smoothes over him the plates of his skull
So that the joints are invisible
And now he connects her throat, her breasts and the pit of her stomach
With a single wire
She gives him his teeth, tying the the roots to the centrepin of his body
He sets the little circlets on her fingertips
She stiches his body here and there with steely purple silk
He oils the delicate cogs of her mouth
She inlays with deep cut scrolls the nape of his neck
He sinks into place the inside of her thighs
So, gasping with joy, with cries of wonderment
Like two gods of mud
Sprawling in the dirt, but with infinite care
They bring each other to perfection.
i absolutely love this, todsThat little charge electric burn
that fires every damn time you turn a corner
giddy feet want to skip and run
to find Hermes shoes fly through the night
to embrace the stars flung across oceans span
dance in cold grass and ocean salt
as time ticks on for that moment
when two souls share the same page
to write words glimpsed but not yet inked
and as we smile and congratulate
smithpeter nods a silent approval
smiles
and whispers
that is poetry.
Congrats you two my well wishes to you both.
i know the young lady in question and the love you feel for eachother shines outAs someone who also met a nice demure young lady on this site and married her, I offer you my congratulations.
This doesn't mean the end of the boob pics, right?
We thought you should know that I've asked butters to marry me and she said yes.
we should
marry on a monday
when the air is bright and blue
look into eachother's eyes
knowing love is true
we should
marry on a tuesday
when the sun begins to climb
with all the world before us
and all we have is time
we should
marry on a wednesday
considering its name
and there amidst the grove of trees
swap love-vows same for same
we should
marry on a thursday
on a rainy afternoon
where all the raindrops sparkle
like tears of joy in june
we should
marry on a friday
in autumn's gentle mists
wear rings of corn upon our heads
bear love within our kiss
we should
marry on a saturday
when dusk falls sweet and dark
and whisper of those secret things
that dwell within our heart
we should
marry on a sunday
when the full-moon's high and bright
dance away till dawn's first blush
lit by love's own light
we should
marry when the earth revolves
the stars and sun and moon
in winter, spring and summer, fall
all blest by love's sure boon
we should
