This is why I hate monotheism.

This is why I hate monotheism.

You are free to hate whomever or whatever you want as it is your head. However, it seems rather strange to hate something based on a count of a religion's gods as that does not determine the level violence of a culture. There have been plenty of warlike cultures and cultures that desire human sacrifices. Most of them were not monotheistic. Likewise, some people who are not of a Christian upbringing have a hard time seeing Christianity as monotheistic because the concept of the Trinity as being one seems contrary to their understanding of monotheism.

Keep in mind that on such topics like those dealing with sexuality, some people just dislike it period -- regardless of what the religion is in their area. For instance, I seriously doubt that if the story behind "Our Lady of Fatima" had included a plea to accept homosexuality that all of a sudden there would have been a great improvement in acceptance by Catholics.

People have the potential to do either good or bad. They can use any world view they want to justify either path. They can also get influenced by the dominate world view of their area even if they don't strictly adhere to that view. The bottom line is that it is up to each INDIVIDUAL to plot their own course and hopefully learn with life's experiences that there are very few "universal" truths that they should expect all others to agree with and strive to live by.

what's really remarkable is the complete absence of homosexuality in all of Iran...

Well, that is what the fucking cunts of the dictatorship are saying, even though it is A ok for a transsexual to get her SRS there, which to me is one big fucking strange thing. But then again people are fucked up, and of course there are gays and lesbians there, but they live the life very carefully. Or they flee the country so they can live their own life, without having a death penalty over their heads because they prefer their own gender over the opposite sex .

You don't have to go to the middle east to get that kind of attitude. I remember centuries ago in a high school English class when for the umpteenth time the topic got on to homosexuality and the sickness/evilness/etc of it. I really was tired of the same topic over and over again. So I raised my hand and asked about transsexuals.

Believe it or not, some people's attitude about sex gets right down to nuts and bolts. There was even a red neck kid who in an accidental slip from proper school room vocabulary blurted out. "Well once it is done, they have real functioning pussies, right?" Someone responded yes. So the guy said, then those people should be cool.

So even in this country (USA) there is a certain "red neck" compassionate liberalism that says as long as you are willing to go as far as "cutting it off" so that truly you are trying to conform to societies "norms" that you have gone that extra step that takes you past the utter vileness of penis in male ass, penis in male mouth, or penis anywhere other than in, on, or around a good woman -- preferably Christian.

none2_none2: I think I have said it before, but up until 1980 here in Denmark, there homosexuality was looked upon as an illness/disease heck it stood in doctors journals until then. And what did the Danes try to "cure" homosexuality back in the 1930´s to somewhere in the 50´s ? well they basically castrated the gay men who wanted to be "cured" (and a load more) , and well it is no wonder why a lot of them committed suicide afterwards. And well, let us just say there is a reason, why I will not accept any kind sexual phobia such as trans/homo/bi phobia. Since it is basically something I think is disgusting(the phobia is disgusting if any one thought I meant the sexuality), and why didn´t I mention USA this time around ? because about half the American states has homosexuality as a crime, thanks to fucked up old laws. So it is no wonder why USA didn´t signed the document about illegalize the persecution of homosexuals. That is the reason, why I said about Iran. Because USA has so much shit flying their so I tried to spare USA some of it.

I didn't know that about Denmark. I do remember several years ago a similar story came out about Sweden and people they considered mentally challenged. I think they said up until into the 1970's Sweden had a policy of forced sterilization.

As to homosexuality in the US, it was decriminalized in the US back in 2003:

Ok then, let us take another law then from Florida, which hasn´t been decriminalised then.

Men may not be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown. Well to me that is extremely tough luck to some transsexuals then.

But it is good to hear that they decriminalised that thing with homosexuality, but still there are many fucked up things still over there, in the country where I have people I know and care about.
