In fact both Adolphe Bouguereau and Alexandre Cabanel were part of the same school "Academic Art " from the "French Académie des beaux-arts ".

Their styles and the choice of subjects are very similar tough the use and the conception of the colour is pretty different .

I personally like both , and another I like of the same current is the English Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema ....
