I totally agree with you. I would just like add something if I may. I was watching a show earlier (National Geographic Channel) where they were talking about nudism. There is a place down here in Florida (north Florida) where they have a community that adheres to just nudists. This community is very strict where they do backround checks on their members. This community is very much out of the way of suburbia therefore there are no lurkers plus they do not get in the way of the uptight clothed people.
Someone on the show made a comment which stuck in my head. She said that the reason why society is so against nudism is because the way the media projects it. Everytime you see someone naked it has some sort of sexual act tagged to it. Meaning, you only see a naked person performing the act of sex OR in a topless (or nude) club.
If the media showed nudism without the sex tag attached to it, they will get more adjusted to it and therefore would be more acceptable to it.
If you goto a nudist beach, it is no different then any other beach. The only difference is that obviously the people are naked. Strangers mingle and talk just like any other gathering. Yes, I have been to a nude beach so I am talking from experience.
The media should show that side of nudism rather then the sexual side.
thanks,
