A bench, being much longer than a chair, is probably more comfortable for the sub to lay down across. If you don't have to worry about the sub toppling off the other side of the chair then you can give all your attention to spanking that ass, right?

Well cuz it's prettier than our chairs .. lol. And ... the smell of leather in my face as i'm tied/cuffed/chained to the bench smells & feels a heck of a lot better than the arm chair that the kids and dog and cat lay all over ... heh.

Seriously though, there have been times when i have been tied to the arm chair and COULD *sometimes* have escaped if i REALLY wanted to... err.... i think (and not due to Him not doing a good job ... the chair is just not as dependable sometimes, it's soft and giving, and as small as i am i can wiggle out of things very well) ... can't say the same about the bench, especially since when i am bound to the bench, my toes barely reach the floor & my fingers barely reach the clasps attached to the cuffs.

Oh and we have 3 types of cuffs... velcro canvas (super comfty) , shackles, and plain old metal basic cuffs ... but even rope or scarves can do what they do too.

Of course it's not entirely true [one way or the other], and you're quite right most of the responses don't reflect my opinion. i hear you, yep. i doubt my Master would have gone out 'looking' for a bench and He simply happened upon this one which as he'd explained to me was too unbelievable of a bargain to pass on, with it being made so well and with such good materials etc ect.

There's no big toy chest here full of store bought expensive toys. It all fits into one half of a top dresser drawer. Other than the bench, one cat/flogger, cuffs and a couple of vibrators most in the drawer are common items which we have found 'other' uses for (wooden clothes pins, neckties, rope etc). Other than that there are two handmade spreader bars under the bed, and usually a huge heavy duty hook in the ceiling above. i'm forever putting household items back in their respective places: hairbrushes, veggies(THESE end up in the garbage disposal, of course), wooden spoons, spatulas etc. Some items have been collected from yard sales (very kewl to find an item look at each other and chuckle at the household things & odd/hard to find items some just want to get rid of to save space), half i don't even know what they are, but can guess at how He'll use them as He pays $1 for thios & $1 for that.
