Once again, he had surprised me. So many emotions roiled inside me like a red killing tide.

As I walked to the door to open it and look for Ian, I felt the reinforced denim seam rub against my crotch and winced. I was sore. Once again, he had surprised me. So many emotions roiled inside me like a red killing tide.
