Strictly personal choice. I was bald for a couple of years there but now have the full bush back - I'm fair & not very hairy though. I have done both. Personally if I had the time to shave I would. It makes me more sensitive but it is very time consuming. If you are not sure what about trimming it short but not fully shaved.

I vote for shaved.

I vote for neither shaving or leaving it but rather trimming really well. My husband always wanted me to shave but I never wanted to due to bumps. Instead I bought a trimmer that trims very close or adjusts lengths. Love it and so does he.
 
if you feel comfortable with trying something new, then go ahead and shave. as has been said before, do what you feel comfortable with. it really does just come down to personal preference.
