Thanks all! It was a great day. At work, I spent the day writing a program which writes and program to write a program (now there's a mind bender! but what can I say, I'm a geek... I like this stuff!)

Then a dinner party for 12. Nibbles to start (grapes, indian snack food.) Pumpkin and kumera (sweet potato) soup for starters, with a load of fresh italian bread. And dipping butter for the bread (my lover was distracted and microwaved it a bit long!) One of our guests had butter running down her chin.

Main was a selection of filo parcels stuffed with spinach in a cheese sauce, a moroccan lamb pie, and a shepard's pie varient (wot can I say? some of my friends like plain food...) with three choices of salad. Red wine or bubbly to go with it, or water for those driving.

Dessert was a choice of chocolate eclairs, or the Tiramisu. While the Tiramisu wasn't as successful as I had hoped, it was my first go at it, and still quite edible. In small quantities!

And one thing about my friends -- man can they talk! The conversation veered from worms (the intestinal variety) to termites to... well, I'm sure you can guess. Surprisingly, it didn't have to rely on me to bring the level of the conversation down to the gutter.

Pressies? Um, an Indian (from India, than is) wooden mortal and pestle, a couple of CDs, a book, a fiery spice mix, boxers (from my lover of course! she gets to rummage in them...), and some dark swiss chocolate. Lindt!

The good news is that the Tiramisu was yummy! The bad news is that I used too much Kahlua, which made it too rich to eat much of it. I'll know better for next time I guess.
