I would actually be flattered if there was a movie or TV show released that clearly came from one of my stories.
For example a TV drama about a growing (and obviously forbidden) lesbian romance between two 18-year-old girls in the early 1960s who struggle from the results of their traumatic childhoods, the plot of which is my story 'April Leads Julie Astray'.
Or two Blumhouse-produced horror movies, one of which is about a group of six high school seniors who are abducted by aliens after their Halloween night dance in 1959 (Cindy's Close Encounter), and the other about two square pre-med (female) and pre-law (male) students who attend a chaotic music festival in the early 1970s, only for the girl to be captured by Bigfoot and the guy having to trail them into the forest to help her escape (Bigfoot in the Bennington Triangle).
Let's face it if this really did happen there is absolutely nothing I could realistically do to stop it even if I was really peeved about it, so I might as well enjoy it.
