Historical Romances

One of the problems is getting my history straight.

That's the beauty of having two people write something. I don't mind doing the research, but I can see how it could get quite tedious if you spend more time researching than writing. Also, in a story such as you have outlined, there would be a whole lot of research!

Now that is a good idea. I can just imagine some modern day snake oil salesman who drains the spring dry and ends up destroying it completely, ending forever its curious effect on people who stumble upon it.

Why thank you! It would be better if he didn't destroy the spring completely, but the spring had some sort of nasty effect on him. I love a bit of horror, I really do!

I haven't written anything in years. I once tried my hand at an adult novel, but lost interest about half-way through, and when I wanted to go back to it and continue the story later, I realized that it had been lost in a move....

Over the years, I had written numerous adult short stories, but several years ago, I lost the writing "bug" and haven't been able to get it back.

I also suffer this problem. I find that I get all fired up about a story and spend lots of time writing notes and planning plot lines in my head, but after I write a few chapters, I totally lose the drive to finish it.

I am not sure how you get over this, but perhaps writing in a partnership means that you keep spurring each other on with new ideas. Maybe that's what makes things interesting?

Ooo, got a sort of Steinbeckian "Pearl" thing goin' on. Your greed will be your downfall.

Any way to work in a bit of Poe?
