All right my dears we have new holidays for the 23rd of Decembuary!

December 23​

  • Festivus
  • National Christmas Movie Marathon Day
  • National Pfeffernusse Day
  • National Roots Day
So our first one is the holiday from Seinfeld the merry day of Festivus as an alternative to the pressures and commercialism of the Christmas season. Sounds kind of good to me. We also have a day to simply sit and watch your favorite Christmas movies. Pfeffernusse is a German spiced cookie that are made around the holidays. I was curious and looked up a recipie and I have to admit. They look kind of tasty. And while some might think lets look at some plants national roots day is the day to delve into your family history. Who knows maybe you will find something awesome.

Well my dears we are growing ever closer to Christmas eve. ( its what I celebrate.) But I have decided I am enjoying this so I am going to keep going until new years eve. So see you guys tomorrow!

So today is the day to send out Christmas cards. (I have gotten a few already) You can also look and hopefully find something you have lost previously during the year. We can also work to prevent Genocide which obviously is a worthy cause. Hug your llama...or watch the emporers new groove. Make or eat some tasty pasteries. and listen to skrillix as you do. And congratulations on gaining your independence Tanzania back in 1964 when after they overthrew the Sultan of Zanzibar.

Today is the day for you Mathly types to get your calculations on. I am not great at this so yeah lol this is not my day. It also also the day to bake and give them to people. I notice this month has alot of baked good days..not that I am complaining mind you. lol This also is the day that commemorates the merger of two political parties, Zanu-PF and PF-Zapu on December 22nd 1987 in Zimbabwe. Congratulations to our chatters there. It is also the day some celebrate the pilgrims landing on Plymouth rock. So don ye now your...black and white apparel I guess? That's it for today see you all tomorrow. :)

December 24​

  • Last-Minute Shopper’s Day
So tonight is christmas eve! I don't think I really need to explain what that is. It is also the day to break out the egg nog. MM egg nog...and today marks the anniversary of Libya gaining its in 1951. Very cool. It is also last minute shoppers day so...try not to get crushed in the crowds guys. We would like you to come back and see us in chat again.

So short list today my dears Now if you will excuse me I need to calm down my cat who is currently freaked out by the wind we are having.

December 25​

  • Christmas Day
  • National Pumpkin Pie Day
Clearly for most people they will know its christmas day for those who celebrate it. I personally will be going to my parents place for dinner and I hope everyone else has a nice one how ever you choose to spend it. And speaking of sweet...its the day to break out the pumpkin pie..like I said this month has a whole mess of baked good days and its making me hungry.

So I hope everyone who celebrates christmas had a good one. I am off to see if I can push a cat or two out of the way and maybe get some sleep.

To all the chatters, mods, and admins, have a wonderful holiday season. It is my wish that you can celebrate, rest, and reset for the upcoming New Year. You have worked hard and are well deserving.
 
Right so here is today's holidays. I actually slept last night so...lol

  • Kwanzaa (lasts through January 1)
  • National Boxing Day
  • National Homeowners Day
  • Day of Goodwill
  • National Candy Cane Day
  • National Whiners Day
  • Slovenia Independence and Unity Day
It is the first day of Kwanzaa which celebrates African heritage, unity, and culture. It is as I said before is Boxing day. It is traditionally a day to box up left over food, clothing and blankets and distribute them to the poor. If you own a home you can use this day to celebrate it. In South Africa this is also a day to recover from the indulgences of Christmas festivities. People are also encouraged to give back to society following the Christmas holiday and spread good will. It's also the day for people to have a candy cane. I personally like the fruit flavoured ones but minty is nice too.Whiners have whined their way into getting their own holiday. This is not aimed at anyone in particular so before someone starts to type insulted...please stop. And also Slovenia celebrate this to commemorate the official proclamation of the Slovenian independence referendum on 26 December 1990.So congratulations to them.

Hello once again we have more holidays.

December 27​

  • National Fruitcake Day
  • Visit the Zoo Day
  • Make Cut-Out Snowflakes Day
  • International Day of Epidemic Preparedness
It is national fruit cake say...although i do feel the need to ask who eats them to be honest. Not a fan myself. It's also the day to visit the zoo. Although I admit I can't because I don't have a zoo in my city anymore. I will watch some animal planet or something. You can also make cut out snowflakes out of paper. It's snowing here right now so not much point to doing that really. And prepare for epidemics! or well honestly if you have been living through the pandemic keep it up...I am sure we are all tired of it by now so you are all hopefully ok.

Well...its fruit so Maybe? Traditional fruit cake is soaked in rum and quite dense. Like literally this thing does not decay. The world will end and there will be nothing but cockroaches and various fruit cakes. I assume archaeologists will dig them up and assume they were some sort of ritual sacrifice?
 
Sorry this is a day late... just got back home after Christmas away.

My grandfather was an amateur boxer, and as a child I always thought Boxing Day was called that because he was always watching boxing on TV whenever we went over to see my grandparents during the Christmas break.... which more often than not was on the 26th December.

I was a fair bit older when I realized / was told the real reason its called Boxing Day :p

It is the day to pay homage of your holy innocents. Its a catholic thing lol. It is also the day to break out those torrents and seed and leech. I am currently on a call with a friend as I type this and she is helping me calm down my racey brain(not that kind of racey ya pervs :p) so I can sleep. And you should break out the cards...poker? crazy 8's or solitaire...its the day for it!

I hope you all had a nice holidays or if you are still celebrating I hope they continue to be nice. I will be back tomorrow...you have been warned! :p
