L O R D S T E V E cocktail corner:
1. infuse an arbitrary amount of hendricks gin with some extremely fancy black tea. anything floral and loose leaf is preferred. my partner sent me some earl grey with bergamont and lavender so that's what i'm using. steep for an hour or five, depending on how urgently you need to forget the exigencies of the modern condition.
substitute any other high ABV gin if necessary. tanqueray rangpur is pretty good!
2. pour a delicious-looking amount into a glass. add a dash of fresh lemon or lime juice, depending on your tastes.
3. if you prefer a sweeter cocktail, add a dash of simple syrup or fill with ginger beer. alternatively, add an equivalent amount of seltzer. if you are a True Mensch, drink it straight, chilled or with ice.
with ginger beer or seltzer, it is a "knight peregrine." straight it is a "siege perilous."
