Without even naming the author or the story they're "borrowing" from. Bit disappointing that it got through moderation with such a blatant admission in the first paragraph.

That's a good point - it should have been rejected from the start.

The reality, oft noted on the board, that Laurel doesn't really have time to read the stories herself other than some sort of scanning pretty much explains how a first paragraph might not have gotten read at submission. that's not an excuse for the stories not being checked well--but it is the reality of what we have here and shouldn't surprise any regular story contributor or discussion board reader.
