How weird do people like their sexy aliens?

I think there are two aspects to this: how the alien appears to the participant, and how the alien appears to the observer. Having enjoyed the book/movie Contact, the alien appeared to the main character in the form of her father as anything else would have been too shocking. In the sex version, say, appearing in human form works however the actual fucking is taking place.

Similarly, if anyone has seen Red Dwarf, an alien appears in a human form, actually as a character called Pete Tranter’s sister, because this form was attractive to the main character and most likely to lead to sexual congress. To the observer, however, the character appeared to be being fucked by a giant fly.

Whether or not appearing in human form, for sex purposes I guess an any alien needs exaggerated sex organs or penetrative mechanisms, hence the tentacle monster idea where the alien is possessed of multiple prolongations which can fill all the orifices available. A tentacle monster which looks like an attractive man, say, and can appear at a swimming pool in hunky masculine form, but then fuck every girl in the water with its tentacles, might work for me.

Your comments relate to the Star Trek "Man Trap" episode, where the shape-shifter salt feeder becomes Nancy (played by Jeanne Bal), Dr. McCoy's old love interest. Of course, being a shape-shifter, the salt feeder can appear as other humans. In this case, the shape-shifting is used for deception and feeding, not sex, though.

I like the idea of a very different sentient being. But it makes it tricky for the sex to make sense.

If you go with the 'green human', it's obvious how different body parts would fit together and why they might enjoy each other.

It can also work if you let the alien adapt to human needs - like tentacle monsters tend to do (why else do all their parts just happen to fit human orifices and provide convenient lubrication..). The alien/monster motivation might be lacking though.

But if you have a lifeform that's entirely alien, you'll have to put some thought into how sex would normally work for those creatures and imagine how that would impact interactions with a human. Otherwise you might end up with something like a dog humping your leg - he might enjoy it, but it's not sexual to you :)
The closest I've seen to this are probably some of the plant stories where the humans become a part of the plants reproductive cycle.

Let us know when it's done :)

A human male might be able to interact with the female alien with the Venus fly trap vagina, if the juices of the Venus flytrap vagina were not too corrosive. However, I am not sure whether or not the female alien would have the right characteristics to give the human male an erection. Also, the female alien might have to "sample" his semen with a blow job in order to produce eggs that could be fertilized by his semen in the next encounter.

I've always fancied aliens who have a sense of humour and who don't look like a bus crash victim. And no tentacles. And no cocks (or cock like objects) that are longer than 7 inches or fatter then my wrist.
My vision of space aliens is that they are very smooth and sensual, with beautiful skin, very little clothing and interested in how our bodies work.

My 750-word pilot story (publishing Feb 1st!) will technically meet all of your criteria, but... We'll see if the whole package does anything for you or not 😅

Where can I read your full story?
Nowhere, yet. The short story came out of this thread, it's going to be published in February for the 750-Word Challenge.

It's going to be a little weird and a little silly, so I don't know if anyone is going to like it... But if there seems to be an audience for it, I have some ideas for expanding it, possibly into a series 😁

The Hooloovoo from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy": a superintelligent shade of blue.

"Those trousers look good on you, darling."
"They're not trousers..."

But how weird can an alien be, and still be potentially sexy?

Aliens are aliens, because we need to remember they aren't human like us.

Larry Niven's Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex essay pretty much sums up that point.

However, I've seen enough xeno-porn (actual art and A.I. porn with feminized alien/xenomorph drones from the Alien movies) to know horny dudes would pork anything, much like how Boba Fett would try and fuck the Sarlaac.

That said, here's a list of aliens I'd try to have sexual congress with:
  • Sil from Species
  • Dren from Splice (female version)
  • Barsoomian red-skin female
  • The Butterfly twins on the Rigel X station (Star Trek Enterprise pilot)
  • Romulan female
  • Vulcan female
  • A Romulan and a Vulcan female at the same time.
  • Orion slave wench (although after viewing Lower Decks, I'm dropping this slot)
  • D&D elf women, Dark Elf women, and if I'm feeling the need for midget porn, hafling/Hin women
  • Dryads, oreads, nereids (nymphs, basically)
  • Centaur females (Dora from Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder is the limit of my furdom)
  • Cydaea the spider demon of lust from Diablo 3
  • Twi'lek females (Jabba's dancer Oola, Darth Talon)
  • Togruta females (Ashoka Tano, Shaak-ti)
  • Shokan females (Sheeva from Mortal Kombat, non-futanari version)
  • Medusa or serpent lamias in general
  • Fuck it. Anything remotely female, I'm going to fuck it.

Ok, so... Earlier this week some dumb spambot made a "Meet Local Ladies Tonight in Your Area" post in one of the other Lit forums. I joked about writing a story where someone actually responds to one of these spam messages, and it turns out to be from a horny alien who really speaks like that, weird grammar and vocabulary and Capitalizes Every Word For Some Reason.

And I thought that was pretty funny, so I spit out a few paragraphs:

And I still thought that was pretty funny, and a few other people gave some positive reactions to it, and now I kinda want to actually write it. I would probably start with a 750-Word Challenge story, just to get it out of my head. If I enjoyed it, I might write more. But here's my question for Story Ideas...

I love space opera sci-fi. Star Wars, Star Trek, Mass Effect, Larry Niven's Ringworld books, Becky Chambers' Wayfarers books... I love reading about aliens that are extremely different from humans, different body shapes, different environments, different evolutionary paths...

So if I wrote this story, I don't want to just have a sexy human-looking lady with green skin. I think I want to get weird with it. But how weird can an alien be, and still be potentially sexy?

Some brief research into the Scifi and Non-Human genres turn up a lot of "Basically Human with minor differences," lots of "Basically furries, but in space," lots of "Tentacle Monsters Who Do What Tentacle Monsters Do," and... not a whole lot else! And that's cool and all, but I don't really want to write about any of those tropes.

I want to imagine something that evolved into sentient life that is not even remotely human, but that could still have its own standards of beauty and sexiness, ones that could still be recognizable and empathizable to humans, while still being distinctly alien. But I'm worried if I get too weird with it, nobody will want to read it

What do y'all think?

I love the weird stuff. Even if I might not get the full sexual appeal, I can appreciate the attempt at creative worldbuilding if a creature is really out there.

I've dabbled a bit in the non-human category but have kept it relatively tame.

Xenojournalism is about a species of four-armed warrior-aliens who respond very aggressively/sexually to certain colors, and happen to have weird tentacle dicks. So nothing really too mold-breaking but it was fun to write and people seemed to enjoy it.

Stars and Scales is more of a straightforward sci-fi adventure with a human woman and a big scary reptilian alien warrior. Also nothing too mold-breaking, but I did try to toss in a few quirks of biology/cultural practices to set it apart.

For my next eventual non-human attempt, I'm going to try to get weirder. The alien in question is going to be a hive-minded collective of spores that can 'bond' with humans. Basically latching onto certain nerve centers, communing with them telepathically, and stimulating the pleasure centers of the brain. So getting real weird and psychological with it, without any normal sexual physical contact.

I think I can build on my "fly trap uterus" (see above) to make an alien that is not human-looking (no green skinned slave girls from Star Trek). Imagine that she has legs with vine features wrapped around that she could use to get nutrients. Next characteristic is the fly trap uterus. There would be a torso, but with sausage-like appendages that are used for feeding of the young. The snake-like arms would also have pinchers on the ends, with more veins wrapped around for sucking up nutrients. Above that would be a spherical shape with 2 mouths that would be used for feeding, and it would have ears like reptiles do. There would be some extensions with eyes. Note that this is not really meant to be a tentacle monster.

In think the weeping angels are a Doctor Who thing, but they are in human form. Of course, there are the Daleks. They do not have human form, but humans would not be attracted to them, either.

I know. But something fun may be done with this no look at them thing

Funny that you had to specify that.

About weird aliens... Maybe something akin to the scarriest fictional creatures ever: the weeping angels
Scariest ficticious creature would be the mematic entity from Smile, IMO.

Anything else ... if it bleeds, we can kill it.

I think the entity in Annihilation is the "scary alien" that stuck with me the hardest.

What is it? What does it want? Does it have a mind that we can comprehend? Does it even have a mind at all? Is it just a shadow of something existing in a higher dimension? Inscrutable, scary, (the sounds!) But also strangely beautiful, like bismuth crystals or an oil slick.

I’m more of a fan of the original Star Trek, where basically Kirk fucked any alien, but they were all human looking, but sometimes blue or green skin, that was the only variable. So I’m a bad barometer of what a sexy alien looks like. If it gets too far from human form, I think it risks alienating (probably a poor choice of words) the audience.

Perhaps the alien has a mating ritual and a mating period, like the Vulcans, where the alien is in heat for a week straight. Perhaps, like someone mentioned, a shape shifter, the alien reads the human mind and creates the image of a perfect human sex object. More of a cerebral than a physical desire. Or perhaps the alien has multiple sex organs; several penises and vaginas.

I don’t know, I’m not a good storyteller, certainly not in your league. I defer to your imagination. Your previous stories have been excellent. Can’t wait for this next creation!

You're going to be my test case Mike, I don't know if you'll like this alien or not, but it there's even a little spark in the short story for you, I'll be very very happy 😁

Not too weird. Like pointy eared Kirsty Alley as Saavik in Star Trek II was pretty hot.

Saavik and Valeris were supposed to be the same character (up to betraying the efforts for the Khitmer Accords in ST6) but I'm thinking Kirstie was on Cheers by then and couldn't make the schedule, so they made a new character instead.

Also, Saavik was supposed to be pregnant with a reborn Spock's kid in ST4 or ST5. Hot alien MILF action right there.
