I am Canadian

Thank you, Freya. Good morning to you also. And yes, coffee would definately be a good thing this fine morning. We can enjoy it over a beavertail. Thank you for letting me know what it is. I think Isabella was just teasing us last night so she could lose her virginity. But hey, it was fun.

And now that its officially here, HAPPY CANADA DAY. <hope that wasn't to loud>

:D

Not loud enough.......LOL

Not only is it Canada Day but it is also considered, unofficially, Moving Day, so people tend to save their partying for tonight instead.

So while we're waiting for all those moving trucks to go by...how do you take your coffee?

Beavertails All Round Then This Morn?

all right then Freya .. I am making up a fresh batch of beaverails for everyone this morning ... who wants what on theirs anyway ..

oh Merlin *blushing* thank you for a wonderful time last night :) .. and really I had no idea I was going to lose my virginity .. really

Well Freya, I take mine with just a little cream. <for the coffee, that is>

And good morning to you Isabella...Yes, last night was fun. Although I can't say I remember to much about it. To much Molson, I think. All I remember is that I was going to shake hands with Triatic, then someone grabbed me from behind, threw me to the ground and then I heard shouting about someone losing their virginity.

Oh well, glad I could be there for you.

LOL. You Canucks sure are a lot of fun, and Isabella, you throw a wonderful thread. :D:D

Merlin .. thanx hon .. so glad you could party with us .. I too don't remember much bout last night though .. wouldn't it be awful if sex was like that in real life .. over so quick and you don't remember it happening lol

but hey I'm glad you were there for me too :)

Canadian version of Uncle Sam? ... hmmm Dudley Do-Right is all that comes to mind right now .. but that's not quite right .. maybe we don't have an Uncle Sam ..

or maybe "I am Canadian" Joe will become our Uncle Sam .. you know he is really cute .. hey I'd do him LMAO

The Canadian Uncle Sam..... hmmn... that is a good one. I can't think of a thing.

I have never had a beavertail either, however I have had poutine. No clue what a jamjam is, but here in Moose Nads, we have a dessert thingie called a Persian which has become quite desired around other parts of the world too, I hear.

As for the money thing, I think Canadian money is much more attractive and easy to use than ugly, green, American moola. Every time I go to the states I find I really have to make sure I know what denomination bill I am handing out. At least here in Canada, the different colours make it easy to just pull a bill out of your wallet without having to look overly closely at it.... well, unless you're colour blind. As for the loonies ($1 coins with a picture of a loon on one side) and twoonies ($2 coins with a bear pic, pronounced 2 knees and not t-woo-knees).... I'd like to see you Americans carry all that change in your pockets.... your pants would fall down... Wooohoo!! ;)

I think "Uncle Sam" is a phnomenon unique to the USA. "John Bull" of the UK is the only thing even close I've ever seen, and he's an American invention.

I don't think other countries feel a need to personify their country with an Icon.

I refuse to lower myself to make the obvious comment about the relationship between Canadian money and Warner Brother's animation. <G>

hey can i borrow at looney?

oh yea Harold .. bout the Looney Tunes .. that's cause everything is animated in Canada ..

it's not real ... *this is a direct quote from South Park*

yup the people too .. we are all animations .. hey i've got dibs on being Jessica Rabbit ... no wait a minute she's not a blonde LMAO

Not to beat a dead horse Lasher but I guess we will have to split the difference on the invasion thing.

I was,in fact, speaking about North Korea and by far the lions share of combat units were American (although over 50,000 canadians rotated through) but I will give it to you because that would make us THE ONLY country to repel an invasion by you guys. And it was CANADIAN militia that repelled your lot in the major battles in UPPER AND LOWER CANADA there were less than 200 British regulars involved plus our allied native tribes. In fact one regiment of militia marched all the way from my home town of Fredericton in the dead of winter to eat your boys lunch in Lower Canada (Quebec). To say there was no Canada then ... were there americans at Lexington or Yorktown or Bunker Hill? They were Americans in fact and in deed just as we were Canadians at Queenstown Heights.

I am in no way knocking americans (except in jest) and by the way HAPPY JULY FOURTH to our friends to the south. Pop a Bud eat a "dog" enjoy the freedoms that are not all allowed "up here".

Oh and in closing Lasher ... mess with a Beaver and they may slap you with their tail

Oh by the way Lasher your Order of Battle. I see at least 4 Colonial Regiments there ... want to bet I find more.

Nice try big dog, Happy Glorious Fourth anyway

Don Cherry .... minus the hat, but his suits are wilder.

Just being a smartass. Sorry. Actually we don't have anything directly comparable to Uncle Sam or John Bull in the UK.

Maybe we should bring back Captain Canuck from the comics. Suggestions?

You want symbols? I got symbols!

Actually, we do have a symbol comparable to Uncle Sam or John Bull. He's a virile, young, handsome lumberjack named Johnny Canuck. Hence the euphemism for a Canadian. He has kind of gone out of style of late but then so has John Bull.

Isn't Molson owned by Miller?

I'm not much of a beer drinker, so I may be confused. But isn't the Molson brand owned by Miller Brewing- a good 'ole American company? Wouldn't that make the "I am Canadian" commercial an American production?

Belly up to the bar, boys!

No, Cheyenne, Miller brewing and Molsons have an agreement whereby Molsons produces Miller brews under licence for sale in Canada and Miller conversely does the same with Molson products in the U.S. That's why the same brews aren't the same on both sides of the border. We make real beer while you make near beer!LOL

Could be, but I'm fairly sure Miller had an American ad agency make the "I am a Canadian" commercial. I was at a business lunch where Miller's CEO was one of the speakers and he was previewing their new commercials for us. I'm sure that was one of them, because I liked it and remembered it.
